Oil squirters...Needed or not?
I bought a block, and have the intent of building it. Pistons/rods...and maybe sleeves if my old motor holds out long enough for me to save the money. Anyways, I was looking around and noticed there aren't any squirters on the bottom...the holes are there, but they're physically missing from the bucket o parts that came with it. Do you think I need them or not?

I think I may just pull the squirters off my b16a2 and put them on the b16a that I'm building. Not like I can run 2 motors at the same time anyways. couldn't hurt anything to have them in there.

if someone may explain, why are they necessary for stock pistons? and does it provide more lubrication/more stable oil pressure when removed with forged pistons?

the primary reason is because the stock pistons are cast units and are not forged like the aftermarket. The reaons you want the oil squirters on cast is to keep the temps down.

The oil squirters aren't on the pistons, they attach on the block under the pistons..

But they are squirting on the pistons from underside, and that adds extra resistance when the piston is going down...
Also explained as extra weight...
