oil squirter??
Gsr with 8:1 comp...t3 t04e...10.2 lbs...one of the oil squirters broke becuz i probably hit it when i was honing it... should i put in the oil squirter or dont even bother?
They are there to help cool the stock cast pistons. They are not needed for forged pistons. Its common practice to block them. Some people cut the nozzle and braze the end shut.

So what you are saying, is that the forged pistons would not benifit from the extra cooling that the squirters provide?

Additional windage and oil foaming outweighs any increase in piston longevity. There already is a lot of spray on the bottom of the pistons from the rod side clearance.
Well I guess 3 quarter of the honda community that keep them in their motors are loosing power and reliability.
To the OP, just replace the one thats damaged. I along with many others have retained them with no issues.

I guess I missed that survey. It's a small thing that isn't going to make a big difference either way. There are lots of high powered LS blocks running successfully with out squirters.

/done
well put.
i have been both ways. this year i am plugging, one for the windage, two, for the oil to go elsewhere in the engine. all the forged setups i have been building i have been brazing or using the g.e. plugs.

a very very reputable tuner/engine builder/fabricator on this website told me he "plugs the squirters on every build".besides with my wiseco's they were interferring with the piston anyway so they woulda had to point at the cylinder wall.
