Default oil return line fitting on pan question.

I have a revhard stage 2 kit and for the oil return line it came with a rubber hose and 2 sections of pipe. One that connects to the turbo and another that I welded onto the oil pan. My question is if I opt to get a new return line that is steel braded with threaded fittings, do I need to cut the pipe welded to my pan and re-weld the new threaded fitting or put the fitting on the pipe?

I wasn't planning on getting a new oil pan, I just wanted to know if i had to cut that section of pipe off or not.

If you were going to get a threaded fitting for the pan, I would say probably yes, you will have to cut that off or block it.
There may be a way to convert it to thread, but it's probably not going to be as durable as just re-doing it right.

If you already have the fitting welded, why don't you go with SS line and just clamp it over the welded fitting (whatever it may be)?

Your drain line isn't pressurized, so threads aren't absolutely neccessary.

do you or anybody know where I can get a SS line that will just clamp over that pipe? B/c the only ones that I've seen are ones that have the threaded fittings.

I will give you a braided SS return line for $5. It has no ends, you can just push it onto your current fitting if it's roughly 10-AN in size.

I bought 3' of it and only needed a foot, so I'm going to cut the remaining 2' in half and sell it cheap to the needy
