Default oil pressure light flickering

For some reason when I am in my 98sh and it is warmed up, my oil pressure light flickers. It doesn't blink as it normally would, but it flickers. It happens when I am in neutral at idle. But when I step on the accelerator or start moving it goes away, but comes back again when I stop. Would it be a bad sender unit or is it actually my oil pressure?

i would say its your oil pressure

change your oil filter first then if it still does it then hook up a oil pressure gauge to the engine and see where your oil pressure is at idle.

Put some oil in

Seriously, check your oil level. 99% of the time that's all it is.

You guys realize that the oil light is tied to a pressure switch, right? The only time the light comes on is when oil pressure falls below 7.5 PSI!

Stop driving the car..figure out the problem first. Check your oil level, then use an oil pressure gauge to verify the actual pressure.

Well there is definitely oil in there because I just put some in(my car burns oil like crazy). What would cause the pressure to drop so low if there is oil in there? I'll try changing the oil filter and see if that makes any difference.

well if it burns oil a bad seal? where does it leak oil and burn it or burn it out the exhaust?

dented oil pans are like the number one cause of low oil pressure.

any codes? also how many miles do you have...

YES. It could be a bad sending unit but check the pressure first to make sure it isn't a failed/failing pump or clogged/sludged pickup or something. Oil starvation + motor running = FTL
