Oil Drain Help - Cleanest way to use BARBED FITTINGS
My turbo hangs a little low - and unfortunantly I cannot get the fast-turbo.com oil line drain kit to work with my setup the fittings take up too much slack so i'm going to have to convert to barbed fittings and a hose. (the oil line drain kit minus the flange will be FS if anyone is interested)
Anyway.. I was just wondering what the cleanest way to put a barbed fitting on the oil pan was. I cant find anything on ATP turbo that I can weld onto the oil pan.
Thanks in Advance.

AN fitting with a barbed end going to an AN drain flange on the pan would be my suggestion.

Wanna try this ?
As long as your kit has not been used, I can do a trade with the push fit kit.

thanks for the suggestion Stan - I had a feeling you'd come through.. converting to that style would certainly improve things but the main issue is putting fittings onto fittings - this is causing the drain to become too low right off the of turbo.
i probably could get away with it but i would have to clock the turbo 45deg and my instincts tell me that you have to keep the drain pointing down?
I was going to use one of these actually.. barbed strait off the flange..

what is the inside diamteter of those brass looking fitting? looks like it might be a little bit to small . shouldnt most return lines be 1/2"?? if it is 1/2" that would be nice for those with a low hanging setup . btw: where can i find those fittings? TIA

Sometimes people drill a hole just big enough to thread the barb fitting in, and then seal it with (insert your favorite sealer here).
If your oil pan is steel, you could also get a 1/2" O.D. pipe and weld it to the pan. You could use a bulkhead fitting, you could use............alot of stuff.

Thanks.. that function 7 peice looks really good. That is the issue.. the more adapters/fittings the less hose you get..

run a silicone hose. get a 1/2 WELD fitting from Mcmaster ( go under pipe fittings and stainless steel or iron/steel and under couplers. find 1/2 NPT pipe thread coupler and purchase one its about 5$? then you can go to the barb hose fitting sectino and pick up a fitting of your choice. if your turbo sits very very low i recommend a 90 degree fitting.

Re: Oil Drain Help - Cleanest way to use BARBED FITTINGS (project dc2)
Thanks for all the input guys! It realy helps! mcmaster carr should be bookmarked by everyone
This is what i've done so far.. i made a low profile barb fitting just zipped it off with the band saw and cleaned it up with a grinder.. it should improve things quite a bit. I'm thinking about milling another .125" off the flange if it's still too low.
