my friend having the same problem he bought a oil cooler it did almost nothing except make him have to buy 2 more quarts of oil. it was a good cooler too.

he fixed the temp problem by re routing the water lines to the turbo dinnit touch the oil lines, we tapped directly in to his raidator i guees it circulated water easier . im sure some 1 here can help u out

what turbo and how do you have your lines routed?

only when you go in to boost?

Because an aluminum ring is stronger than a ductile iron sleeve...?

Most oils are okay going up to 250F for short periods (small loss in protection), so 228F is okay. An non-oem cooler may cause some loss in pressure, which may be worse. An oem cooler will help cool it to optimal temps, as well as heat it up faster so you can beat on the motor sooner.

If that 228 F is your coolant temp, then you need a shroud between your radiator & fan, or completely wrap your manifold & downpipe in thermal wrap. Nothing else besides mounting the radiator above the hood will help.

post pictures of the setup. sounds like airflow issue, what radiator are you running? what chassis is this in. probably air bound cooling system too. darton mids and or a block with block guard in it has a harder time getting the air out of the system. takes a while to bleed it and get it right
