no... it could be blowby if he's got the crankcase breather routed to the intake pipe
check your PCV valve

Most turbo's secrete small amounts of oil due to the style seal that they use. Dynamic seals coupled with stepped piston rings are the best. most likely you have the latter, which is carbon seal and a 'straight thru' piston ring seal.
A small amount of oil is normal really. In fact, i've never seen an intercooler which did not have oil in the bottom after a fair amount of time coupled with a turbocharger.
The only way to avoid/help eliminate the problem is thus, dynamic seals and stepped piston ring seal in the turbocharger.

Re: Oil in the Charge Pipe????????????????????????????? (BEe18SeAONe)
i have a greddy type s bov and at times when i am running really high boost(in excess of 1.3 bar) or just whenever, i get some oil comming out of the blow off. this is compleatly normal, in fact all of the after market turbo cars i have ever seen have had a little oil up there. your oil level also matters, if you have too much oil in the motor it will happen too. just keep an eye on it because it can be a sign of a bad turbo or possibly other internal problems. but for your motors sake, every so often take off your harge pipe ans clean it and your throttle body out with some throttle body cleaner. it will give you slightly better performance as well as a cleaner running car.

normal...maybe, im not sure so i cant say, but it would make me nervous!!!
me and rainmanEK are currently rebuilding a turbo gsr hatch that destroyed some ringlads and his seals are also bad on turbo...and it has lots of play in it...and there was like...a lot of oil in charge pie...not a lil...like half quort

Re: Oil in the Charge Pipe????????????????????????????? (bretx0r)
thanks for replys, i think i fucked up my turbo during the engine break in period after i got my block rebuilt. i was running the car with the blow off valve off of the flange so the motor would see no boost. so the turbo was just spinning crazy fast, it was spooling so loud it sounded like a bus. i checked and i'm not loseing any oil and the exhaust does not smoke at all.

if the turbo is fucked then in most cases the exhaust will smoke terribly during deceleration or heavy throttle. it mayjust be normal oil, have someone ride behind u and go from 5th to 3rd and ride it out. then try 5th to 3rd and get on it. check for smoke. if you turbo is bad then it will smoke out the exhaust.

Re: Oil in the Charge Pipe????????????????????????????? (boostin b16)
My buddy has the same thing. I mean there was oil in the I/C, charge pipe, and BOV. Appearantly the seal in the turbo let loose allowing oil to escape into the sealed piping. We removed the turbo and put the stock mani back on. What a mess. With only a short ram the car idles alot better than before. I will be sending the turbo for inspection this week to see what happened.

hehe just for luaghs im gonna bring up a story. I know a guy who did that. He ran his crank case breather line to the charge pipe instead of the intake pipe. take a guess what happens when boost goes in the head through the crank case breather.
