are all d series crank pulleys the same size? I read that a y8 pulley on an a6 SC would increase boost but don't know if this is true, anyone?

Ryan,
I've got all three here... no nm not a Y8.
But if you need a belt I've got a few more than I need. And you're local... you could get it the same day. If you pick it up $12.... better than from J/R $15 + 5.95 S&H. I've already got in trouble with the moderator about trying to sell a few.

But if someone needs a D-Series blower belt, I got'em... just got to keep this on the DL. I remember breaking mine 4 years ago and I couldn't drive my car for a week and a half. Now we always have spares.

I got my Hondata s300 Tuesday... it's real nice similar to my old s200 but more cool features like on-board data logging. We ordered a second one for the CRX. It might come tomorrow.... this one is from ebay.

Just 3 weeks until Import Wars at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, Wisconsin!
We're pretty excited if you can't tell

On the DL? I got mine from the local auto value parts store and if I remember it was no more than the $12 you are selling them for. I just took mine off and they match it up I guess some places either dont want to mess with that and just say they dont have them but you definately dont have to go through JR. Its not like JR manufactures these things.

ANother note D series crank pulleys are differnt I have a A6 a Z6 and a Y8 the Y8 is the biggest of them all and will give you a boost upgrade ver the other two pulleys.

Our local stores don't carry these because they don't have a common automotive application. We could get something that I could use if I took the lower idler pulley off.

I know for a fact that "Gates" does not make these. I'm interested in what brand and part number you've gotten from your store. I've inquired at NAPA, Autozone, Murray's, Advance..... nobody stocks an exact duplicate nor could it be ordered. The NAPA store manager directed me to a Bando sales rep.

do you guys have to put a spacer in for the injectors. also how much do the different d series superchargers differ. I just bought a supercharger i believe for an a6 and now have to try to make it work on a z6/y8 not sure how smart it was but i got a good deal. all help is appreciated because my car is torn apart right now so i can put it on.

That's too funny... We're putting a Y8 kit on a A6. It's too bad that we're almost done... we could have swapped manifolds. We would have been done but other non-blower issues keep sneaking up and biting us in the ***. We've had it on the street and it pulls hard but the bargain basement CRX Si chasis was previously owned by Hackmaster McWrench. I've never seen more broken and/or crossthreaded hardware in my life. Our Y8 kit has been sitting in my shop for over a year... I only wanted $800 for it. But got bored and decided to fit it on this shitbox. As always, we've got too much $$$ in another junk... lol.

Default New kid on the block

WEll, i just bought my jrsc offa ebay and im waiting for it to arrive. Ive been lurking here on HT for at least 4 yrs now and doin alot of reading, especially in the JRSC threads. Im really excited to get the s/c and start messin with it. And posting the details here. I WILL be running water injection and 10lbs so we will finally get some definative asnswers on its effectiveness and building up a d15b to see what these superchargers really like/dislike. This is really just a R&D project for me so i hope to get some good results to share. Lets keep this SOHC JRSC thread alive, those damn DOHC have over 300 pages!

Well I figured out that my supercharger is for a z6 but i still dont understand the problem i ran into. I wanted to just throw it on my hx until i get my z6 ready to go. but when i went to put the fuel rail on i ran into a fitment problem so i got out a z6 rail i had laying around and it didnt line up correctly it looks like i need some sort of spacer or something. what do any of you guys know about that??

thanks in advance for any help

also i plan on probably running some sort of fmu unit with little bigger injectors and meth injection by the way i have an 8lb pulley. but any information any of you may have or additional things i should buy or use is appreciated

To the best of my memory I dont remember a spacer what problem are you having?? Of course I have a A6 kit though. As far as H20/meth inj I have heard nothing benefical about this on the JR kit. Of course I havent tried it either.

i dont see how a meth injection kit wouldnt be beneficial because of the temp superchargers usually run

Hate to keep on about the belt issue, but I really need to know what brand of belt they're selling you locally. BANDO is the sole manufacturer for J/R blower belts. I'm not saying that nobody else makes them... but I've been seeking out another brand for 4 years. My NAPA store goes the extra mile looking up crazy *** things for me.... there is no item like this in their coast to coast inventory. Same thing at Autozone.. no 3 rib 48'' belt.

But...... tomorrow we'll be ready to test drive the boosted rex again. I'm sure we've got the stupid driveability issues squared away. If all goes as expected, we'll start changing over to OBD1 and get the s300 Hondata uploaded and running. We have less than 3 weeks to our first Import Wars event and I still have 2 cars to get on the dyno.

wow this page isnt moving like it should be, everyone should just post up an engine bay shot, list of mods, and numbers if you have them that would be awesome to see what everyone has.

anyways i need a little help from you d series supercharged guys. when i put my fuel rail onto my jrsc there is about an inch gap in between the rail and the cast holes that you thread into i dont picture this being right because it is weaker and puts alot of pressure on the casting and the rail. also it didnt come with any screws so does anyone know what screw it is??

one more question are all of the alternator bracket pulley things the same for all d series sc setups, my sc setup if for a z6 and im putting it on my y5 and i actually havent pulled it apart yet but it doesnt seem like it would work

on my friends b16 JRSC it came with little aluminum spacers to take up that gap between the rail and the mounting holes, they were a real bitch to put in Hope that helps, GET SOME SPACERS!

I am planning on putting a z6 JRSC on a y8, am I going to have offset issues with the pulleys? Or is the a6 the only block that differs in the offset?

I'm going to say yes because we took a Y8 kit and put it on a Z6. The pulley in our situation needed to go about 3/8'' toward the strut tower. Other than that, it worked great. Shaved 1.6 seconds on quarter mile time at 6 psi.

We just finished a Y8 kit on a A6 yesterday. It also had to go 3/8'' outboard. The A6 engine compartment had to be enlarged via hammer. Probably the ugliest setup yet... but it's a kick to drive. It's just a dedicated bracket racing car... can be street driven, it just isn't.

Was trying to post pics of prouder installs... I'll get it right!

Thanks, I guess I will see for sure this weekend, hoping to do a test fit. Sounds like the pulley might need to be brought inward though. That's too bad since I plan on building an a6 bottom end in the future.

It looks like I have small aluminum spacers under the fuel rail. Have you tried washers??
