About the "Manufacturer warrenty" obx offers... remmeber, they are NOT the manufactuer. We had broken OBX short shifts, etc at our shop... to get them to warrenty it, they have to send them back to japan or some crap to the REAL mfg for apporval. This was years ago, before they had decent distribution or a known name..

so take the lifetime deal with a grain of salt...

We didn't even run the turbo manifold, because OBX claimed that Nitrous would void the warrenty.. I call BS!

Dang, how can you be poor but have a 500 whp car! I wouldn't risk destroying my tranny over a cheap LSD.

hey i called obx and they confirmed that it's only a 1 year warranty on those LSDs. you might want to get something written on paper from who you purchased it from to make sure its lifetime. sounds like the person you bought it from might have just tossed in a warranty card from another item... like a header or something.

post back when you get that LSD installed, i'm sure all of us are dying to hear how the fitment is and if it really works or not.

Just looking over the whole "high quality" product lineup OBX sells on ebay, I wouldn't trust it. But have fun trying it out!

I love the Kaaz LSD in my less than 200 whp civic. The difference in power you can put down in turns is incredible!

kinda does a lil "skip" when I make a hard turn (like a U turn) at slow speeds..other than that is is pretty cool so far..nice to be able to gun it and have the car goes straight instead of all over the road..but its only seen 300 whp at this point..high boost comes on the 20th

Sounds good. I'll be lucky if I put down 300whp. Have you really ragged on it any? 300whp is still pretty substantial. And if it holds for the 500hp mark I am getting one.

ya 300whp so far at less than half price, i think thats damn good. any more would be a blessing. now just go do a few hundred launches and report back

btw, what clutch and tires? what size slicks for the track at 530+whp? rays:

Here's some more info on these type of LSD's from an obx lsd thread in the all motor forum. The obx lsd is the planetary type.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Exactly. Quaife or other non-clutch types can break if you encounter tire chatter or stutter bumps. Both types can be good and bad during drag, depending on how your car is setup.

Quaife or "Planetary" or ATB or gear differential:

ADVANTAGES:
-little drivetrain loss (only during loss of traction)
-faster in high traction or oval racing

DISADVANTAGES:
-breaks easily
-terrible in slow driving low traction situations
-adjustable only by gear lube choice

------

Clutch-type differential:

ADVANTAGES
-more difficult to break, clutch will just slip
-some are adjustable for different traction/hp conditions
-better in low traction, tight courses

DISADVANTAGES
-clutch needs replacing
-drivetrain loss
-can slip during takeoff, shifts, bumps, etc</TD></TR></TABLE>

Can you explain to me how a Quaife "breaks easily"? I've never heard of anyone breaking a Quaife, but I've heard of tons of Kaaz diffs exploding.
