is this true? afaik the differential is attached to the final drive, and if it were to grenade then bits could fall down past the fd and to the bottom of the tranny into the fluid.

When my ISB went, it took the main shaft with it, along with the oil guides. Anything in the tranny that goes and has bits of stuff flying around is going to **** **** up.

Id think it would be unlikely that OBX actually makes that. They just do the marketing. Im not saying its any good of course..

Price is right though. And if its for a d-series tranny - they are cheap to replace if you blow it up.

Those are my thoughts exactly. I would say there is a 50% chance that these units
are actually made by a reputable company, and are of good construction.
Somebody with a car making some respectable HP numbers definitely needs to
flog on one of these and find out.

well I bought one (Iam poor and on a peg leg right now so this looks like a big fat steak!) Iam currently making 530+ whp and the car went 10.8 with stock tranny and axles..

I will have it within the next week and have it installed (by me..remember Iam poor..lol) and have the car to test and tune on the 20th at famoso raceway in bakersfield.I used to always pre load the drivetrain to help keep axles in the car and not blow the diff..I will thrash on this thing as hard as I can and see what its good for. (I have 2 xtra sets of axles the only reason I was never hard on it before is due to fear of a tranny blowing..but I got a xtra tranny now so its ***** out time!

wish me luck..I hope this thing holds and turns out to be something for the poor people to run without fear!

now thats a plan. aug 20th? 15 days.. well at least we have a date now.

another thing im worried about is longevity. those guys who shattered those prodrive oil gears beat on them hard, but they happened to shatter later on when they weren't even doing anything.

even if there is a lifetime warranty, good look getting obx to replace it for you. kinda like those rebates that never come, or magically have errors that weren't there..

obx does not make them. they are made by a company over sea that makes similer or the same kind of parts. obx goes to them with a quife diff(for example) and has them copy it. and then obx has them shipped here to sale. so as far as warrenty. they will probably only give you a new diff if it breaks and not pay for anything else. and weither or not the product is good depends on the company that makes, if they use the same metals and procedures as the one they are copying or they just use the same materials as a stock diff with the design of a quife(for example)

i vote for the same material as the manifold flanges, or a little better, or more likely cheaper but then again, maybe whatever it is may not hold as much whp as a quaife, but 300whp would be nice.

anyone ever find out exactly what materials quaife uses and what processes they might have been treated with?

****** A. If you slap this thing in and make a few 10 sec passes on it (and it holds together) I am going to **** myself, clean up, and go buy one. I assume this is on a B-series tranny?

It's funny about the warranty, because I think there are two types of things that have a lifetime warranty. There are those things that will probably break on the first day (ala. Harbor Freight tools) and are cheap enough for the manufacturer to replace, over and over. Then, there are those that really will last a lifetime, so the warranty will rarely ever be used...there isn't too much in between really.

I will be waiting for the 20th...us poor, cheap bastards are counting on you, bro!

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">You are bidding on an OBX Racing Sports Helical Limited Slip Differential for the 94-01 Acura Integra 1.8L DOHC VTEC. (Part #LSD9401). Fits ALL 1994 to 200 Acura Integra 1.8L DOHC VTEC models including GSR and Type-R. Brand new and still sealed in box. Also comes with a lifetime warranty from manufacturer defects. Why pay more elsewhere when you can buy it now for $335!
IN STOCK AND READY TO SHIP IMMEDIATELY! Winning bidder pays $25 for UPS Ground Shipping with Insurance included in the lower 48 states. All other customers out of the lower 48 states, please e-mail me for a shipping quote before buying. I accept cash, check, money order and PayPal as payments. Feel free to e-mail me at danny@fuzionetics.com if you have any questions. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!

The OBX Helical Limited Slip Differential powers both drive wheels under nearly all conditions, instead of just one. With an ordinary open differential, standard on most cars, a lot of precious power is wasted during wheelspin under acceleration. This happens because the open differential shifts power to the wheel with less grip (along the path of least resistance). The OBX Helical Limited Slip Differential, however, does just the opposite. It senses which wheel has the better grip, and biases the power to that wheel. It does this smoothly and constantly, and without ever completely removing power from the other wheel. Power to the ground! </TD></TR></TABLE>
