A couple of questions/concerns about this diff. First off, I remeber in earls writeup he stated the washers were put in backwards, so I want to be sure mine aren't backwards. I've taken apart my OBX LSD to check for flaws and burrs, and possible bevel the splines so I don't have axel problems like others. Now, the washers (6 of them) are on both sides in the middle, 3 on each side, all have tops facing inward. Basically looking like this " )))((( " That seems correct to me. Now I've yet to see anyone try bevel the splines on the inside, or even bevel the little snap rings, or even the splines on that last little ring of splines on the axel so there would be no removal issues. I think I'll be trying one or 2 of these methods soon.

Everything seems pretty solid with this unit, however as earl previously stated, The allen bolts definately weren't all torqued to an equal spec, some were easy to get out, others took a decent amount of force. I guess that brings up another question, what should these be torqued to and should I use threadlocker? There seemed to be a grey ooze **** covering the bolts when I removed them. I dunno if it's some type of thread lock or like an anti-sieze compound.

I'll post up my results in a few weeks. I'll be running mine in only a 220 WHP hatch, but I'm putting one in my buddies built LS teg and he'll be pushing around 400 WHP.

()()() is correct. They work like a spring.
Finally someone has an obx with the same problems as the one I took apart.
To me it really shows the stupidity of a company to copy something completely and then not even be able to put it together properly.

"Still not sure how the unit holds up to long term abuse, I'm thinking metal fatigue when I say that, but the design appears robust enough.

I'm going to say a cross between hybrid hatch's and XDEep's opinion on desired longevity is where I am at... I'll be driving it on the street as much as using it as the shop drag car"

im sure an obx lsd is stronger than stock non lsd...so either way when you abuse a diff or car in general...running at the track..your gonna always take life out of everything in your motor/tranny. im sure it will last a while and hold up more than a stock diff. by far.
