OBX LSD. Anyone using one?
I know they make really crappy manifolds. But has anyone used their lsd? I am thinking about getting a quaife but a few people said go with the obx lsd. They are 400 bucks and have a life time warranty.
Just wanted to get some feed back. If you are not running one or just want to flame click the back button on your browser, I don't want this thread filled with bs posts.
Thanks

We actually just got setup for OBX specifically for the lsd. We are ordering a couple in the next week, if you want one hit us up at the shop or here.
But to answer your question....yes Ive heard good things, and its gets even better----the price is right too
****, if I didnt have my quaife I would be putting one in my car.

I think I am going to run one. They look very similar to the quaife and w/ a lifetime warranty you can't beat it for the price. IMHO, I think Quaife will be lowering their prices drastically within the next year because of OBX. Oh yeah, Underpressure02, Nice meeting you this weekend BTW and your car is Genius

Dan I sent you a pm.
Does anyone know how the warrenty works? I read through both of those other threads and did not really get a good answer.
Is the warrenty like the quaife? If I blow up the lsd or break it they give me a new one or fix this one. Or does it have a lot of small print?

I have a test for the OBX. Take a drill and try to drill a hole in the case. If you do that to a Quaife, the Quaife just laughs at you. It might tell you about the unit's strength
I heard the quaife and obx lsd's are the same thing, I heard quaife lost their something or another lisence and obx bought it and are selling the same lsd's for cheaper.
I hear it on another forum not quite sure if its true or not anyone correct me, but I hear everyone is buying them up and shops cant keep them in stock.

All you heard was lies. Quaife is in England and makes their own product. It is distributed exclusively by Autotech in the USA. I am an AUTHORIZED Quaife dealer. OBX is nothing more than the typical Asian knock off product. Go back to your forum and spread the truth.
Earl I know you are all for the quaife. But have you heard anything bad about the obx besides the bad name they carry for themselves with the manifolds and stuff they make? I would like more then anything to buy a quaife but the 500 dollar difference in price could really help in my rebuild of my motor or go towards other things on my car.
I know you the old saying you get what you pay for but has anyone really heard of anything bad about these LSD's or is it still to new of a product for people to have neg feedback on?
If I was reading that people were blowing these up left and right and they fall apart I would spend the extra cash on the quaife but so far I have not heard any of that.
I am not trying to get this thread into a flaming war just looking for some good feed back so I can decide what LSD to purchase.
Thanks for any more input

I have not heard anything bad about the OBX and I understand your feelings completely. I feel the same way. I think it will take some time to start getting feedback on the units. I don't think anyone with a real race car would chance putting one in. I guess it is why some people buy Pauter rods when Eagles will make the piston go up and down also.

Whoa buddy, I stated something that I said I already didn't know if it was true or not. I didn't come in here saying obx is this or is that. keep your dumbass pictures and comments to yourself until you find a real noob to ******* use them on.

We purchased an OBX diff and after it arrives, will do a complete report on it.
BTW, the salesman tried to say it was a remanufactured Quaife. That is completely untrue. Why would you take a $1000 product, remanufacture it and sell it for $350?
The OBX is a completely cloned product made in the orient. It's warranty is only for manufacturers defects which does not include you applying some horsepower to it and breaking it.

Bottom line is u get what u pay for and OBX is a prime example. A friend of mine deals with OBX regularly and has nothing good to say about em. From what I understand the company he workd for is considering dropping them completely. He also said half the time they dont even get the orders right cause they barely understand English. When it comes to performance stick with what u know works! But hopefully this product works out, it does offer a great price. And the warranty is not as good as it sounds. By the way the company I was referring to is Discount Tire!
