correct me if im wrong, but all you'd need is the b16 ring gear to use the b16 lsd. the gsr gear is the same except for the bolt pattern.

at least thats the way i remember seeing it when we had all those trannys apart that one time

jdogg <~~ who still has nightmares about the box of gears and trying to make a tranny that works.

i have some generic brand i believe carquest? well its not generic, they work well, and ive only split a boot, i havent broken a axle yet, but they are lifetime warrenty under most conditions, but buddy of mine snapped 2 of his and they replaced them no questions asked. im too broke to invest in stage 2,3 3958239583925 axles u kno, so ill stick to the cheapo ones.

I'll need one for my H-Series in the future...but right now I wanna find a good deal on a D-Series one for my turbo project. It sounds like they hold up well to abuse. Anyone know where to get them for $350 still?

Why does everyone say it's a copy of Quaife? First of all, that would be illegal, since Quaife Patented their exact design, I think they just patented the part that allows the one wheel to still be drivable even if the other one is in the air by using some friction pads and a spring loaded system.

Secondly Quaife didn't invent the torsen diff, it's been around for years in both gear arrangements, they chose this design simply cause its a little bit more efficient, even though it's weaker, they use better materials though to overcome that.

No whether they copied it or not, that doesn't matter, its a cheap LSD worth 1 shot, if you brake it get a quaife, if you don't brake it, you saved $450

depends on how old the patent is.

Look at the old Holley Carbs, now there are complete units from Barry Grant, and new bodies from Proform.

It isn't expired, btw that little bit of extra functionality isn't that big of a deal I would be surprised if they put that in as well, it will just make it more expensive.
