Not getting full boost! WTF!! And not spooling until almost 5k!!
Here's my setup...
Ebay Manifold
T3/t4 (dont remember exact specs... remember .63 A/R)
Tial 35mm w/ 7.5psi spring
Drag I/C
SFP Piping 2.5" hot pipe & 2.5" charge pipe
Blitz BOV
hondata s200
RC 440s
I made a boost leak detector last night, and tried it, and the leak detector was leaking some, but i tightened down all of the clamps, and got up to 5psi... before i was getting like 4.5 psi... What could it be? Could I be getting 2 psi of pressure drop? The boost source is on the compressor housing. I tried the fuel pressure regulator, and got no difference...
Also, i'm not getting spooled until 4500+ rpms... Could this be normal??

1) What manifold? SSAutochrome?
2) Try a different boost reference, like the intake manifold. (Your compressor maybe be pushing 7.5 psi, but after the pressure drop through the FMIC, 2.5" piping, etc...you'll only be seeing 5-6psi in the intake.
3) A T3/T4 with .63 A/R on a "stock" b16 will start to spool around 4k-4500 rpms. How big is your downpipe/exhaust?

ssautochrome manifold
I tried the fuel pressure regulator which goes into the intake manifold & it made no difference... could it have been because of the small line of the FPR?
My downpipe is 2.25" until where the cat WOULD be, when it goes to 2.5" straight back to an Apexi' n1 muffler. Would a bigger downpipe help? I thought bigger downpipe takes longer to spool?
Another question... I have vtec around 5100 right now... should I raise/lower it?

i'm having problems with spool times too on my d16y8 running a small *** wrx turbo. I believe its just my shitty *** charge pipe setup though. It goes from small piping into extremely large piping up near the tb. I will be replacing it all very soon.

I would definitely check that manifold for cracks or leaks first. And try to find a vacuum source that's not shared.

Quite the opposite. Bigger downpipe = more exhaust flow = quicker spool up.

I would leave it at stock levels for now until you can figure out your boost problems. Are you still using stock cams too?
