Default Vacume at Compressor for Wastegate?

Ive decided that im going to get my vacume for my wastegate at my Compressor.. Less chance of spiking/creep. I will adjust with my boost controller for any drop in pressure due to it seeing the boost earlier!

Now.. I have a Garrett T3/T40e Turbo.. 57trim .63ar and theres no fitting or port on the compressor for a vac fitting.

Since i dont feel comfortable drilling/tapping my turbo. Could i put it in the charge piping like 2" away from the outlet of the compressor?

TYIA!

I don't see how 2" is going to make a difference. 2" down the pipe may be .0000001 PSI less or something minute. As long as its before the IC, I'd say you're going to read the same pressure in the mouth of the charge pipe as you would tapping the compressor housing. You will obviously have to correct it with what you want the manifold to see, but it looks like you got a handle on that.

the magic trick will be getting vacuum out of the turbo..... maybe if it spun backwards?

If you use pre-intercooler, you'll have boost drop issues due to the pressure drop increase of the intercooler as the revs rise.

I had two bungs added to my IC piping when it was welded together. -4 fitting for the AVC-R and a -6 for the bottom WG port.

why not read vacuum and boost at the manifold?

The readings youll get at the compressor housing will be off cause there is like a 2psi pressure drop thru the ic.

Also you can read boost AND vacuum from the manifold
