Default NOOB Question about tuning...

Ok, so I had Emanage, but opted to drop the emanage and go for a chipped ecu. I called the tuner and he told me unless I had hondata or neptune he couldn't tune my car. I thought the idea behind a chipped ecu was that you didn't need to spend all that extra money. I thought they could hook their stuff up and tune it. So, my question is. What do I NEED to make my car tuneable?

get a new tuner, because if he can tune with hondata or neptune then he can easily tune with crome.

Maybe he is trying to get some extra money out of you since he knows crome is alot cheaper than the other hondata or neptune

To fully answer your question, what is your setup?

your ecu is socketed and chipped ready to be tuned. you still need a program to tune with. find someone that tunes crome or spend the money on hondata or neptune.

yeah, he definitely should be able to tune with crome if he can tune with anything else.

Are there any other tuners in your area?

Thats the problem. I'm in Des Moines, IA and hes the closest... He's in Lincoln, NE. I'll call him tomorrow to see if he can tune with crome. Unless someone knows someone closer.
