Default non- mandrel bent ok????

i came across these intercooler pipes the other night. it seemed like a real good deal, till i saw that they werent mandrel bent. at least they are not crush bent. would it be recommend to only use mandrel pipes, or will these do the job? just not sure of this one. the turbo will be a t3 60 trim with a johnnyracecar 5 inch i/c on a d16z6. planning to run around 7 or 8 psi to start, then eventually up to 12 or so. whats your opinions on this???

My opinion on this comes in two parts:

1) They will be fine if you choose to buy them. Mandrel isn't all that impt, especially on charge pipes, as long as they are 2" or above.

2) You can duplicate that WITH mandrels and all (www.jcwhitney.com) for less money and probably get a better fit (they never fit just right... ever).

Good luck.

Mandrel is the best, but get what you can afford.

Kteller8 stuff is very nice. Mandrel bends are VERY important. A 2.5" maybe even a 2.25" mandrel pipe will out flow a 3" crush bent pipe all day.

wow man that much more of a difference than i expected. so would these pipes fit somewhere in the middle of that, considering the bends are smooth, but do not maintain the same diameter?

I know what kinda bender your talking about (ie. not krinkle bent). I honestly don't think you will notice any real difference on a mild setup. If all out power is what your going for then thats another thing, but it will work fine for most setups.

if they are not mandrel bent, they are crush bent.

I know many people running crush bent charge pipe. it's just not as efficient as mandrel bent, but it will work fine.
