Waste of nitrous IMO. Use carbon Dioxide. cheaper and doesn't promeote combustion, say you crash and fuel and sparks and nitrous are spewing everywhere. Carbon dioxide would help put out the flames too!

oh, and you would spray ONTO your IC not into, unless im thinking of some other product....

Not sure how they work but my friends with a GTi 337 and a tt rx7 take a pesticide sprayer and fill it with ice and water. In the staging lanes they take turns spraying their i/c's down. Apparently there times are going down but I don't know if they are just becoming better drivers.

Hell, for that kind of money, you could get water/alky injection that is known to work.

I remeber seeing this a while ago and was thinkin this system would actually hurt the intercooler. If the intercooler goes from freezing to hot everytime you use it wouldnt it put massive wear and tear on parts of the intercooler?

Probably better off running a little 35 shot or something.

this is good for those that don't want to have to tune the nitrous/turbo set-up..which i "hear" is a bitch...i wouldn't know for sure but i'll tell you when i get that done too. nter-cooler kit = a much better CAI system...why wouldn't you want colder air running in you turbo charged set-up? plus w/o nitrous running in your system...seems a lot better to me and less risky. of course this is all IMO

Well, I would *think* a 35 shot would pretty much be a bolt on affair just like if you had no turbo, but I don't have experience running both - although after a the rebuild that's what I want to do. Thing is with nitrous IN your air charge, it will drastically lower those temps and can provide even more power than the shot is rated for....say 45 horses from a 35 shot (not to be taken for gospel just a theoretical type thing).

But you are right, there would be absolutely no danger at all if using the n-tercooler deal.

i understand where you're coming from, why waste the nitrous on the outside when it could go into the engine....i'm just looking for overall better drag times...hence the nitrous to help w/ lagg...and the n-tercooler kit to keep everything chill while i'm not spraying....i'm hoping for drastic time changes in my drag times. (crosses fingers)

Defnitely let me know your results. I'm anxious to see them but won't be able to try them until I build some kind of shortblock.

I used it for about a month. Its good for a little extra power, but I wouldn't say 40 hp worth. Felt more like maybe 20hp, but I never got a chance to use it when it was really hot out or dyno it. My reason for selling it was the nitrous was getting too expensive, and if you use anything else like c02 or water, it doesn't do much at all.

that makes little sense. CO2 is very cold, and would work pretty well. Can you elaborate?

i've never had any experience with c02, I was under the impression it wasn't as efficient as nitrous but I never knew how much. I should have stated I never used c02, just water and nitrous.

IMHO, if one was dieing to cool the outside of IC, an acetone spray would be best, or colder yet an dry ice cooled acetone spray. Pure alcohol, acetone, or alky/acetone + dry ice will give you a -75 C liquid. Acetone would be best becaues it has the highest vapor pressure (evaporates fastest). You'd have to make sure there's no water, that would cause the mixture to sludge/slush up. The best part; you could get your refil at Home Depot.

John, I'm wondering what would be the results from -75 C alcohol for the alky injection. Would this even be worth the dyno time, Wednesday?

yes, it is worth the dyno time, as your jetting affects air/fuel. We'll tune both.
