newest uberdata released
Thanks toxicshit - I actually have a hexeditor and I've already done the edits, but thanks anyway
The ECU is in my car and the OBD1 conversion works... sort of. I'm getting a code 9 (CYP) so I messed up somewhere
I'm not sure if that's preventing other codes from showing. I'm using an auto chipped USDM P28 for the computer, PA enabled, ELD enabled, speed limiter at max, knock disabled, O2 heater disabled (only using a 1-wire) and like I said... only that one code, for now.

Did you read the post directly above yours, that I made, when I clearly stated I used an auto P28 ECU? I can understand not wanting to read 32 pages, but it's the last post you should've looked at.

You would disable the sensors if they don't exist on your ECU or setup and they're causing problems with check-engine lights. I disable knock since I don't have a knock board on my ECU. I have the PA and ELD so I left those enabled. Just pick and choose what you've got.

cool, alrighty, so there isn't anything i need to change right? i'm going radio shack after church, to get the 1/4 watt 1.0k resistor, 2 0.1uF ceramic Disc Capacitors, one 74hc373ic, and a 28 pin socket. Then bring it to school tomarrow so i can solder it in.
crap, i went to radioshack they only had 1k ohm resistors (1/4 watt) and 0.1uF ceramic Disc capacitors. That's it! i have to special order the rest, so i'm just going order online from jdr.com
and jdr.com has
74HC373 TRI-STATE OCTAL D LATCH 20P $.39
is this what i should order?

hi everyone, ok i've spent this past week reading this entire post and most of the links from it. i know its old but better late than never right. i gotta say this is the coolest thing i've ever found on the net and u know theres alot of crap on the net! well im definite going to use this program to tune my ecu but before i start buying i just want to run my shopping list through u guys and get an okay from the pro's.
1 Batronix Eprom Programmer from here (http://www.progshop.com/shop/programmer/index.shtml) assembled 98$
2 1/4 Watt 1.0k resistor from radioshack
3 two 0.1uF Ceramic Disc capacitors from radioshack
4 one 74HC373 IC from radioshack
5 28-pin 29c256 eprom (i think im going to get like 3) here http://www.moates.net/gmecm/hworder.html
6 Zif socket from here http://www.moates.net/gmecm/hworder.html ( can some1 tell me which one will fit in a p72 without getting in the way of the atompheric pressure thing?)
Is this pretty much it? am i missing anything? another question a i plan on putting a b16a head on my gsr and put all type r interals inside will the p72 run this setup without problems? i think so but just asking. thanks sorry for a newbie post

just trim off the excees on the end of the zif socket with a dremel or knife. when the zif is in front of you, you'll obviously see how much needs to be trimmed...after that it'll slip right in there no problem. I have a pic if you need it.

so does the ERM p28 bin have the knock sensor disabled since it's based off the p75/72 code? i would just go in with a hex editor and check, but i'm not the best with hex editors.
thanks and keep up the good work guys!!!

No it doesn't. You need to change it yourself
If you email me at raeneshadowAThotmailDOTcom I will send you an edited P28 baseline bin with the knock sensor disabled... but I'd rather you open up the hexeditor and do it yourself. It's easier than you think! I used a program called Hexedit. Addresses are on the left, and the central numbers are in the right. So if you're looking for 24a3, look for 24a0, then count 0-1-2-3 over and click that address. There will be two characters there. Change them to match what you want. For knock sensor, just look for the knock sensor address, click the cell, type in the disable code (I can't remember if it's FF or 00) and save the file. Done!

Because ubderdata is made for p72 base programs only. and if you have a p28 or a p13 you must use a p72 base with the p13 or p28 fule /ignition tables etc....

update, drove my car to work today
outside temp 32 degrees. car temp 32 degrees. started right up. cold idle wandered a bit around 1500rpm. but it was perfectly drivable. car warmed up and boosted fine.
sometimes on cold start, my car starts right up but the idle doesnt catch and it shuts right off. only done it like 10% of the time. restart and its fine. i think its the fuel trim but i have no way of datalogging that yet. anyone experience this?
one time it did it hot and i had to hold the throttle to get it to idle, it was really rich i think, and then the fuel trim leaned it out and all was well. really odd.
other than that, its perfect.

Sometimes my fuel pump won't turn on when I start it - perhaps that's your problem. When the fuel pressure drops it would die down pretty fast; if you turn it to 'off' then 'on' again it would re-prime the pump. I have a 190lph, no interior and no sound deadening so I can really hear it clearly.
My cold idle is also very strange and wandering. Very uneven, it misfires and pops a lot and it runs very rich.
I've been fiddling with the idle percentages and it's idling much better than it did before (when hot), but it's still very uneven. I also drove to work today, actually it drove stoich most of the time but I need to fiddle with the low-throttle parts of the map
I took 10% out of everythign but the leftmost 2 columns and 5% out of everything in the left 2 columns but the top 2 cells. I'm going to take another 5% out and see how that goes
The main thing I'm worrying about is when I put it at more than 50% throttle the car bogs out and tries to die... it feels like it's hitting a rev limiter, a fuel cut, or just plain running out of fuel. The cheap air/fuel gauge goes to stoich when this happens. I was thinking it might be a bad wire somewhere in my conversion harness... anyone else have this happen?
BTW how can I contact Blake? I'd like to donate for his good work here
and I'd like to get the 3bar Uberdata... also wondering what the release date for the next version of Uberdata is.

It's just a regular full size ZIF.

What I would like to share though, is that my Romulator does NOT like the Aries low profile ZIFs.
