dont forget the 25 pin male to male serial cable to hook the burner to your pc and if you ecu is not socketed already you will also need:

(1)28pin IC socket
(2)0.1uf ceramic capacitors
(1) 1k ohm resistor
(1) 74hc373 IC
and adequate soldering/desoldering tools and skills, or take it to an electronics repair shop.

I don't know how much you want to spend on a burner, but I highly recommend the batronix usb burner. They make a cheaper one also, and xtronics has on as well as the williams one.

Or you can mod a network card and burn that way

Nah, hes just got extra time on his hands... lol

By the way, I've got a few 28pin Aries ZIF sockets to get rid of (like 2). They need to be trimmed to fit in the ECU because of the Air Sensor but once trimmed fit great. I could trim it or you could if you want. I have a few pics if anyones interested.

Yea im curious too, I have access to all difference kinda of nics at my work and I would like try this setup as a backup burner.

 

I don't have the link off the top of my head, I'll find it for you later tonight if I have time - but search pgmfi in the approaches section if I remember correctly.

EDIT: you know what I think it was a scsi card I can't remember - I think you might also be able to do it with the motherboard flash util on some boards.

Ah finally, the thread I was thinking of. It is a scsi card. Really cool if you ask me - I am going to try some of these out of boredom.

Yea I have seen people use a scsi card too. I actually tried flashing other bin files on motherboards before and the flash utilities usually check the file first to make sure its a compatible bios so that wont work with most newer boards, plus most are 32 pin anyways. I have seen lots of nics with empty 28 pin sockets at my work.

BTW, I just read that on some of the bios flashing utilities you can tell it to not check for whatever and force a burn.

I would be willing to bet NO ONE will help you if you type in all caps, I suggest you fix it. Its rude and annoying and shows what a NOOB you are. Try using the spell check feature of the board as well. If you don't care enough to proof read your post I can't care enough to help you.

now the map says at this point -6 degrees this will me retarded.

so is the real ingnition setting , set at 20 - 6 = 14 degrees total advance for the ignition block?

i feel bad for you, you have posted this like 20 times in deiferent threads. Look, when you burn a map, it is independent of the stock values, the timing YOU put in there is the timing IT runs....that should clear things up for you.
