New Turbo Install - How To Stop From Spinning *alone* ???
Im about to swap my SSAC t04e into my crx and I realized I have a problem.
The instructions say to hold the wheel firmly when its started and to hold it for 30 seconds until oil is all over it. I thought sure I can do that
Ofcourse I never thought I would be all alone until almost 12pm tonight and frankly I just cant wait that long
How can I do this myself?
Thanks guys

^----What he said, or just unplug the one plug on the distributor. Crank it over for a good 15-30 seconds or so that should get the oil flowing. I wouldn't be surprised if the turbo doesn't spin at idle anyway (not due to it being an ssauto, but a larger turbo on a small 4 cyl, idle -> very little airflow). Good luck
edit: If it is still off the car, just drip some oil in there before you put it on.

sounds like how mine went. I took off the feed and put it in a bucket, i cranked the motor over for 15 seconds until i saw oil come out the feed then i tightened it onto the feed on the turbo

i say just start the car, oil pressure is gonna build within a few seconds anyways. i doubt you are gonna ruin a turbo from .5 seconds of no oil, if its even spinning at all on start up.
and like someone else said, i would never put my hand anywhere near the turbo wheels.

And if there's a restriction in the line that he's unaware of, he'll never know about it.
Hook the feed line up to the turbo. Place the return line on the turbo, but don't connect it to the pan. Place the hose in a drain pan, unclip the injectors and crank until oil comes out the return.
