New turbo or fix old?
I recently bought a built del sol and it has some problems that I'm fixing. I have new upper control arms to put in soon and while I wait I want to know what I should do about the turbo.
The turbo is a cheap ebay t3/t4 turbo 57 trim AR.50 that leaks from the seals. Was debating on whether or not I should just go ahead and buy a new one or see if I can fix the one I have.
Build: (Taken from the ad)
vatara 9:1 Pistons
golden eagle rods
golden eagle block guard
aftermarket valve springs
aftermarket retainers
stage 3 comp cam
Skunk 2 bored intake
Tuned on 10psi
Currently it's said to be making ~210whp and I'm looking to stay around that range or up to 250 to keep it as a daily.
I know I'm forgetting stuff, and I'm still new to everything so any help would be appreciated

Re: New turbo or fix old?
Ive heard of people using garrett internals on ebay turbos and theyve been fine, but honestly, I would not trust any part of the turbo. I own a holset, so I might be biased, but honestly I will never own anything but a holset or borg warner ever again. Easily rebuild able, parts are easy to find, perform GREAT. win, win, win.
you can find a hy35 or hx35 for about 200-300$ used in working condition, even in oregon. I live in seattle and they pop up every once in awhile, but honestly, ebay is where its at.
*you never mentioned what motor you're running, so I'll assume stock b16? with 9:1? god that must suck. you need a tiny turbine.
