Default new track times - *w/vafc hack*

Ok, I went to the track last friday to see what my daily driver (88 CRX) would do. I went with full exhaust, full interior, full tank of gas (93/98 octane mix), and 4pt roll bar. Traction was provided by a set of Nitto 555R drag radials. For some reason my boost was flutuating on all of my runs, especially in the lower gears. Normally I run @8-8.5psi. My best run was actually at a measly 7psi . Anyway here are a couple of the times...

run #1
radials @20psi w/moderate 2nd gear burnout
btm @.5*/psi
60' - 2.272
330 - 6.218
1/8 - 9.460
mph - 62.33
1000 - 12.256
1/4 - 14.615
mph - 96.44

...car was still very hot as I had just arrived at the track.

run #4
radials @16psi w/large 2nd gear burnout
btm @0
60' - 2.274
330 - 6.116
1/8 - 9.235
mph - 79.27
1000 - 11.925
1/4 - 14.193
mph - 99.66


set-up rundown...
88 CRX
stock Y7 shortblock
stock A6 top end
DX tranny
centerforce clutch
VAFC hack w/DSM 450s and GS-R fuel pump
MSD BTM
2* retard cam timing
16*BTDC ign. timing (now back up to 18* BTDC)
205/45-15 Nitto drag radials
T-25 turbo
Starion intercooler

This friday....10-12psi

so you had your timing advanced at the dist? and had it retarted at the cam gear? and then had your btm set to .5 per lb of boost. i am almost sure you could of went full stock timing at only 8psi with your 93/98 octane mix. i run full timing at 5psi on just 93 octane. that is a power loss for you.

i have not ran at the track yet, but your run looks good

Yeah, that was kinda confusing. Originally (before the track) my cam gear was at 0, my ign. timing was at 18* and BTM was at .5*. Before going to the track I retarded my cam timing 2* (to help out my top end), hence dropping my ign. timing to 16*, BTM being untouched. I meant to reset my ignition timing at the track, but forgot my timing light. I also meant to try different cam settings, but forgot my allen wrenches. Actually, I forgot all of my tools The first run I just forgot about the BTM, so it remained retarded, but I set it at 0* after that.

This Friday...more boost, more timing, and less fuel
