need some ideas/help
i have been stressing over this for a few days now, so i will turn to you guys for a little help.
i'm running a d16z6 in my 88 hf, block is getting sleeved so no issues there. i have my turbo, and how to make it spool in a decent range is my problem. it is a SC61, and with a 1.6 that only revs to 7500 on a good day there may be some spooling probs. i have been thinking of everyway to make it spool soon enough so it will stay in boost after shifts. i'm looking in the 400-450hp range hints the reason for the 61. i'm not opposed to a small shot of gas to help spool up time out, but would like to save the gas to boost hp #'s incase i don't get what i want.
no company out there shelf stocks 10:1 pistons for the z6, and 10:1 would prolly fix the spooling prob. have also considered going to a 78mm bore to aid in this. in a perfect world there would be a shelf stock 10:1 78mm bore decent piston for it, but there is not, so i am stressing. i'm going to be reving the car to around 8k and would like to be in full boost(20-25psi) by 5k-5.5k how can i make this happen?!?!?!
