Need some Advice on a D16Z6 Setup
First off I want to flat out say I'm a noob with turbos but I'm trying to learn all I can, so I appreciate all the help I can get.
Anyways, I have a D16Z6 that I'm planning on turboing... I have been reading and reading but I still can come up with a solid setup to use.
I'm thinking of a T3 Super 60... But I'm at a loss as to what manifold I should use (I want to keep my AC), what Intercooler, DP, Engine Management., Block Setup etc..
I want to keep the car a daily driver but boost at least 250-300. I would like it to spool at about 2-3k rpm and keep going past ~7k. If anyone could help me figure out a nice setup to achieve my goals I would be very grateful!
Thanks,
Mitch

The T3 will start to reach it's limit @ 300WHP but it will pull to redline for you and start to spool @2500-3000.
IMO it's an excellent turbo to use on a daily driven D series!!!
I'm not sure as to what manifold you should use that you will be able to retain A/C. but If you are on a tight budget you can use your stock D exhaust manifold, and you will be able to keep A/C.
As for an intercooler have you looked at PWR? I like their stuff and it's priced relatively low.
I personally suggest Hondata if you have a good tuner availible to you. It's been very reliable for me and can support 500+WHP so what more can you ask for.
as far as exhaust & DP I suggest 2.5" for the D, I think 3" is just excessive.
After all that all you need is pistons & rods and you'll be ready to roll.

Re: Need some Advice on a D16Z6 Setup (T-sohctec)
Thanks T-sohctec, for a manifold I'm looking at maybe a Max-Rev D16 Stainless Turbo Manifold or a drag 3, is it possible to retain the ac w/those manifolds?
For a Down Pipe the Max Rev 2.5 to 3 (Full 304 stainless, tig welded, CNC flanges, mandrel bends, fits D16 motors Retains AC in most applications. Available with 2.5in to 3in converted outlet to bolt to 3in turbo exhaust ---> *Apexi N1 for me*.)
What kind of boost levels would I be at w/the T3 super 60 to be pushing 300+? At about what rpm would it be at full boost?
(Also does anyone know a good place to pick one of these up for a decent price?)
How about Injectors, IC piping etc..?

Read my post on my setup. Pics say a 1000 words!!!

I am running 11 lbs (Stock map sensor limit) and it runs like a bat outta hell. I love it. This is on a completely stock block. The built motor goes in this winter. I highly recommend you do it right and get HOndata or some engine management right from the start. HTH
