Default D16z6 with a t3 setup.

I'm new to this forum. I'm helping a buddy of mine out put a saab t3 on his del sol. He's got the SOHC vtec.. we're putting a supra turbo pump in it. Going with non-turbo DSM injectors with a resistor pack. 2 1/2" turbo back exhaust. A front mount IC. 2 1/4" IC piping. S-AFC. What boost should we be able to run safely with this setup? Any help would be appreciated.. or any suggestions!

Sounds like the setup i'm planning. the AFC mod doesn't allow u to boost pass 10psi without giving you a CEL so I'm guessing anywhere below 10psi would be fine.

How can I make it so I can boost higher than that? Also I am putting a check valve from NAPA in but i'm not exactly sure what vacuum line to run it on since the MAP is all incorporated with the TB. Any ideas about that? This will be enough fuel to run this setup correct? Thanks man!

You have to take the MAP sensor off of the the TB and put a line between it and the TB with the checkvalve between them. You may need more than one, as well. Also, you will probably blow your motor with over 10psi on a stock d-series block. The AFC "hack" works with DSM turbo injectors which are 450cc vs. 290cc, even though the 290's are technically enough for 5-7psi. So, you'll need larger injectors.

hmm.. ok i'll have to check out the MAP.. i don't remember exactly how it is setup on the car. I haven't worried about that much yet. Also you think that I will need 450's in order to push 10 psi? I thought the 290's would be enough... I also heard it is bad to run more than 1.5 times the normal injectors without using a standalone.. the car will run correctly using 450's with a S-AFC?

My buddy a while ago was running a t3/t4 and he had 450's.. he had a problem with them puddling out because he wasn't using enough of the duty cycle.. couldn't I have the same problem? .. that's why i thought non-turbo injectors. because stocks are only 220's or 240's right?

well numerous people on this site have used that setup i'm sure they can lend some insight. about the checkvalves... if ur use the afc and cut back the fuel i don't think u need one up to a certain boost level. something like that... I'd do a search on it. Search for "h-t afc hack info" in the archives by liam821. I found that post yesterday and I've talked to liam about it and he says it works good.
