Need help from knowledgable Nitrious guys
Ok my buddy needs help here is a list of mods tell me what you think is reason car keeps running lean.
Lsvtec
b18a bottom end w/ Je11.5:1 pistons and shotpeend and polished stock rods
Arp head studs and rod bolts
Port and polished b16a head
Skunk valvetrain and retainers
Skunk stage 2 cams
skunk manifold
bbk 70 mm TB
Nos 120 shot direct port
Dc 4-1 header
exhaust
Now the car also has a 255 pump, b/m fuel regulator also spoon ecu and vafc.
Now on the motor the car runs pretty good but when the nitrous comes in its detonating plugs in cylinder number 3 and the other are white which from what ive seen is a lean condition. Now we have adjusted base idle pressure to 50 and the car seems to lean out and take out a plug and suggestions on what it might be. Are the injectors going bad do i need bigger ones.

whats the jetting you have set up ?
the fuel jetting is dependant on fuel pressure . i dont knwo if you understand or not .
what heat range plugs you have in it ?
whats the timing at and octane fuel you running . these things can deff contribute to detonation

i knwo you think its set up as a 120 shot , but what size hjets are you running . depending on fuel pressure you run it could be off . the jet sizes nos gives you as a baseline is for like 35 psi fuel pressure. i found otu i was running rich with their jetting soi kicked the fuel down a jet and ran like a beut
also too little timing will make you detonate also from what i was told.
whats the bottle pressure at ?
kick it up a jet size with the fuel and see what happens . and do something with that timing . i think that might be hurting you

Re: Need help from knowledgable Nitrious guys (itr206)
i will double check the nozzle sizes but when i lowered the pressure down to 35 it ran even leaner and ate 2 plugs instead. Its already damaged the valves it chipped two exhaust valves on number 3 chamber cylinder so its going to get some stainless steal ones asap.

another stupid retard.
anyhow bud,
it could be that ecu ur using...do ya know if it advances timing anywhere?kick back the timing and youll be good. best way to get the actualy hp as designated is to run it on dyno and jet it accordingly. get a fuel safety switch..if fuel psi drop below a certain point it will cutt the n20

I dont think its the ECU cause like i said i retarded timing already and on those programs timing is only raised like 3 degrees anyway. Were not going on the dyno yet till we can get somekind of decent fuel setup w/ the car. Dont feel like blowing 150 bucks to tune a car that is missing parts needed to run properly. Please no more idots posting only if you have similar setup or have run this much nitrious on a direct port system and have had good success maybe you can let me know what your jet sizing was?
Ill have to check out the fuel pressure saftey switch

Re: Need help from knowledgable Nitrious guys (hybridrexsir)
Check the gapping on your plug.
You might need to run a colder plug then the current one your using now. I believe yours is only one step colder. (correct me if I'm wrong anyone) I'm running two steps colder.
Definately check your fuel jetting it's better to run rich then lean until it's completely dyno tuned. Hope that helps.

like i said kick the fuel up a jet. thats the nice part of having direct port, easier to tune fuel with.

Re: Need help from knowledgable Nitrious guys (EVOLMTR)
ok i have the gap at about .40 on the plug. i'm running # 7's in there now. i've already had problems with the hotter plugs. now i just keep with the #7 thats all i run in there, yeah what i'm goin to do when it gets back up and runnin is goin to jack the fuel jet up to about i think its a 20 or 24. but i'm also wondering about the injecters cuz when i took the head off in the #3 port it looked like it was lean even in the header.

Re: Need help from knowledgable Nitrious guys (hybridlsvtec)
For one reason or another, it seems that #3 tends to run a little leaner then the others... Might try swapping a different injector into it, from one of the other cylinders. Then check and see if it has any effect on how the plug(s) look, on the cylinders you swapped injectors with...

for that kinda shot , tries 8's , and you might want a smaller gap , i had mine at like 33-35 when i was shooting , , , well i think i have em at like 35-36 now with turbo . i have upgraded igntion though

Re: Need help from knowledgable Nitrious guys (itr206)
Could be your plugs. If your running a BKR7E then you have 2 steps colder. For a 120 shot I believe u need BKR8E which is 3 steps colder. Also is your bottle pressure under 900? If so that could be another problem. Well hope you get it together keep us posted.

Re: Need help from knowledgable Nitrious guys (B16sR4Kids)
great info guys will are ordering valves this week and should have it together shortly we will try to up the fuel jets and swap injectors to see what happens. Wouldnt by adding a larger fuel jet also make the total shot setting smaller or does it not matter as long as you run high enough nos jet to begin w/.

ok now where woudl i get those kind of plugs at that are 3 steps colder. i've called around to a couple different places no one has them so i have to go to this place to get 7's but thats all he has.

actually 7's are only one step colder on a teg motor.
8's are special order. search the web for em
