Default nitrous problem...backfire

here's my problem....i have a 93 hatch with a B18b, fully built. i'm running a 150 shot direct port NX kit. well when they tried to tune it, it backfired right away and then they didn't **** with it anymore. i have no bottle heater so i've been told that it could be too much fuel and not enough nitrous. i have a fuel pump, regulator and all that good stuff. any info will help. thanks. please email me if you can help me.

have you inspected the motor?
have you checked the plugs, ignition system and fuel system?

by reading the plugs you can figure out alot. lean or rich. detonation.

what was your fuel pressure and your bottle pressure at the time of tuning?

what kind of fuel pump, FPR and ignition system do you have?
what's your ignition retard at?
do you have at least 2 steps colder plugs for a 150 shot?

more info will help and checking the plugs is very worth your time.

I agree, check the plugs.

but if it backfired, that means its probably rich.

why did they stop tuning when it backfired?

What are you running your ignition timing at?

simple, fuel puddling.

Start with a smaller shot and tune upwards.
No need for a heater as long as bottle pressure stays about 850-900 psi.

i'm running colder plugs, MSD digital 6,6degree retard, and an aeromotive FPR and walboro pump. nitrous pressure was well under 800 don't know for sure cause i wasn't there during tuning.i also don't know where they put the fuel pressure. i was planning on changing my jets but i wanna get some input first cuz they're a bithch to change because all the plumbing is on the bottom of the manifold

what # plug do you have? fuel pressure may have been too high if you weren't there while it was being tuned. have you checked your plugs yet?

that sucks that the jets are underneath. my lines are on the sides so it only takes a minute or two to change them. going for a stealth setup?

I'm guessing it was just a backfire out of the exhaust. That can indicate a rich fuel mixture. If it backfires through the intake, then it's most likely running pretty lean. I saw a Mustang blow up pretty bad like that after he hit his Nitrous on the dyno.
