Could be a ripped charge coupler, otherwise it's pressure loss through the intercooler ... try tapping boost reference off the manifold if all else fails.

He mean's PRESSURE source... like I said before.
No vacuum for a wastegate!

Re: (SwIntegraB16)
what kind of boost controller is hooked up to it? are you using both the top and side ports of the gate?
if you loosen that nut on the top of the gate and turn the screw with an allen wrench you can get 2 psi more from just tightening the spring down

pressure drop through the intercooler..... hook up your reference source to the intake manifold and watch your boost gauge magically read "10"

Re: (SwIntegraB16)
it shoudlnt
if your signal for the boost controller is from the turbo, then the wasetgate is going to regulate boost to 10 psi at the turbo outlet.... air gets heated when youcompress it, passing it through the itnercooler cools it, therefore making it more dense causing it to lose pressure (psi) so the pressure at the intercooler inlets and outlets are different, 10 at the inlet and 8 at the outlet (becaue of the pressure drop)
now your boost gague is hooked up at the intake mani, therefore its only going to read the pressure after the intercooler.
if your signal for the boost controller is plugged into the intake manifold, then the wasetgate is regulating boost to 10psi at the intake manifold.
get it?

Re: (SwIntegraB16)
Hes trying to tell you that from the
turbo->Boost Controller(boost Controller makes wastegate pop at 10PSI)-> Intercooler(You lose 2psi of pressure here) -> Boost Guage(reads 8psi now) ->Intake manifold 8psi total going into the manifold.
Correct me if im wrong somewhere. This is assuming you have it hooked up this way.

Re: (PinkMaggit)
^^^ you are right on the money. This is why hooking the boost gauge up to the manifold is "better". It just gives a more accurate reading as to what kind of pressures are actually going into the engine.

hey guy now i have another problem but i think this is why i wasnt boosting 10psi well today i was racing some evo and my rpm we just go up but i wasnt feeling no power well so then i was onlyboosting like 4.5psi so im like what the **** so i ope the hood and saw that the bolt that goes in the wastegate was not there soo i was like what the **** so what could of happen to the bolt get loose??

I would try to help but I have no idea what you are saying....try posting in spanish
by what I think I understand a bolt vibrated out of the waste gate and the exhaust is leaking from that opening causing the exhaust to go out of the manifold instead of spinning the turbo to build boost...
Fix the exhaust leak and put in another bolt

yeah but the bolt the got loose is the one the holds the spring so what im think is that maybe why its wants boosting all the 10psi before was bc it was leaking boost by there bc iwas not tie but thats what i think ihope u understand better sorry iwas a lil late lol
