Default NEED EXPERT HELP WITH TURBO

My friend and I are trying to install his new T3 on his car and we seem to have run into a little problem. The oil feed and return are not in the up and down postion. If we were to bolt this up right now the oil return would be facing the radiator. No Im not tech when it comes to turbo but I know the return is gravity fead and needs to be in the downward angel.

How do I ajust so that it can face down?

I know you can losen the intake side and turn just the cold side housing.

I need to turn the middle...

there is the exhaust side that has a solid ring and there is the intake side that has the little sectional clamps. But I need to turn the inside of it (middle)

you SHOULD be able to loosen the exhaust side too.... when you do so, the center section will turn

The exhaust side is a solis ring.. Not the clamp style like the intake side.

Sorry for the typing error, I am running in between the computer and the car.

To losen the exhaust side would mean to take all the bolt out of the exhaust housing leaving only the turbine wheel holding it together. At least I thought???

guess I maybe misunderstand, if there are bolts I assume if you loosen them it will have the same effect if it is a solid ring or not, have you attempted to loosen the chra to exh housing bolts and turn it? I know you requested experts but I am not one, but at the same time I have yet to see anything different in design as far as how the housings are held in place to the chra.

Lol well I'm still lost on what to do...

If I try and take the bolts out of the exhaust housing they hit on oil housing on the CHRA, Making it impossible to remove. i would need to turn the CHRA in order to remove the last two bolts FTL

you have to move the exhaust housing outward while loosining them to give them clearence, but that is to take it apart, if you just want to "clock your tubo" that is what you need to do is called, that is where you rotate everything to where you need it to be, you only need to loosen the bolts not remove them

if it is a used turbo it will be a big pain in the *** to get them to turn but they will sometimes you have to hammer them off CAREFULLY

ok I know what clocking is... In that post you bunched up all the info..

The bolts holding the keeper ring ( or w.e called ) actually go into the housing as if it is pinching together.

So your say losen all the exhaust bolts and turn the exaust housing to where it needs to be?

yes exactly, the ring squeezes them together so to speak. yeah seems retarded at first but, loosen bolts and turn is the theory, but its not always that easy they get stuck and you make need a mallett and possibly a vice. like i said it can be a pain but it will go

excellent little writeup the colors are not on your turbo they are used for help but read this
