Default Running a CAT on boost??

Hello , I'm running a t3/t4 on my 96 gsr. Im also running an N1 with a CAT, I was wondering if this is bad for the car considering the back pressure differences of having boost. Is it smarter to run the straight-through design? With the CAT, the car does sound much more dignified. The strange thing is, i've heard the same setup with a straight through design and it does sound much different. Its almost as if it is more crisp to the tone all the way through the power band. I think I can pass inspection this way, but i was just looking for opinions , advice, ect...

Backpressure really isn't a concern when dealing with boost. You would run a test pipe to free up your exhaust, as for a cat is very restrictive. Hence your tone differences, also.

yes turbo's dont like back pressure, get the exhaust outta there as fast as you can. youll def not want a cat in there for some more power. i AM running a 3 inch highflow cat though because i dont want the cop trouble with the smell.

i really want to take mine out and see what it will do though.

Running a cat will rob some power but not tons. I run a 3" highflow on my car because where i live is strict on emissions testing. But **** man your in texas there is no emissions. Run that thing open DP if you want. The state of TX considers a turbo a muffler therefore you dont even need to run a muffler. Damn i hate connecticut
