My first problem...car wont hold vacuum, joygasm
b18c1
Ok....After pushing my car a little bit last night...it will not idle now.
Upon inspection, I noticed that my knock sensor wire harness came off the actual knock sensor (wtf)
I pulled the spark plugs, and noticed that the 4th cylinder plug had the prong chipped or melted off...I replaced the spark plug and knock sensor ****...and started the car and it still ran like it was previously.
I took off the spark plug wire for the 4th cylinder, started the car and it was no different that if it had all four wires. I didnt get a chance to do a compression test...I had to catch a bus back to school.
Any suggestions? Would a compression test tell me anything other than the fact Im losing compression? In other words...would it tell me anything important before I start to take the motor apart...
Thanks in advance

If a spark plug wire was defective...or fucked up distributor, would i still hold vacuum even though the cylinder was not getting any spark?
Could this be a simple ignition problem?

I would say that the number four piston are gone.
spark plug prong melted = sever detonation
