Firstly you should try and do a compression and/or leak down test if possible. If you are have no or low compression in one cylinder, the car will sound much like a Subaru.

However, are you sure the sparkplug you removed is getting spark? Make sure the wire is plugged into the dizzy very well, especially if your plug wires are aftermarket. If it seems to be plugged in fully, try taking the spark plug out and connecting it to the plug wire. Ground the sparkplug and attempt to crank the car, tell us if you can see the plug sparking?

actually now that you mention it it kinda does sound like a subaru at low rpms up until around 3500 and yea i made sure of everything the plug is sparking all the wires are tight all the injectors fire ( i know i got sprayed in the eye with gas) but i havent had the time to do a compression or leak down test yet im gonna try those friday on my day off but your the fourth person to tell me that sooo im assuming it may be a ring

thanks for the quick reply though

also just to add the motor has been in three different cars in one car it was turboed and in the other it was sprayed and in mine it just has an oil feed line for turbo ready so it could be apossiblity that it is a ring but yea i grounded the plug on the block and saw it sparkin

Yep. Compression test will reveal all. Most likely rings are going/gone in one cylinder.

I told you on your other thread...

Take spark plugs out and put compression tester in, and crank the car until the needle doesn't go anymore...

just to update all you guys that helped me out i finally got a compression tester from a good friend and i did the test today when i got out of work around 1130pm the results are.............................

1st cyl. 200, 2nd cyl. 200, 3rd cyl. 195, 4th cyl. (problem cylinder) 60!! so i did a small leak down test and no change in the pressure which im kinda happy about cuz at least i dont need pistons, but im getting a new head, headgasket, valves, cams, cam gears, and valve cover gasket. so im doin all this work this weekend. im buying the gaskets and head tomorrow and doing the work saturday will post up how it goes
