Motor Mounts
Hey guys I have a quick question for you. I have completed my setup which is a 94 civic hatch with GSR bottom end and B16 head. Holset H1C turbo. Supertech 9:0:1 pistons eagle rods. PTE 1000cc injectors. Walbro 255. Blox intake manifold. Eagle rods. My question is that I have stock mounts, but I need someone to point me in the direction of a few pictures of torque mounts. I am going to get some aftermarket mounts soon. But I willl be running the stock mounts in the meanwhile. So in general I need a few pics of both torque mounts and help would be greatly appreciated.

You don't know which ones are the torque mounts. Is that what you're getting at? Avid makes them but I'd just get some hasport mounts and don't worry about running the Tq mounts at all.
Here's the avid ones... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AVID-...item3cbaaa3a3f

the avid torque mounts make your car shake like crazy it is rediculous they are not really needed i just took mine out and filled them with a liquid rubber adhesive let cure and reinstalled i would never buy the aftermarket ones again overkill...

Install energy suspension inserts in all five stock mounts and it will be solid enough for 500+whp. Or insets on the trans and engine mount and a Hasport rear torque mount and your good

I have the energy suspension inserts for the rear mount and the 2 Tq mounts for sale since I upgraded to hasport mounts. Lmk if interested.
Why do people get rid of their torque mounts? The stiffness and abilty to help things from moving around really helps many many things. Yet again if this is just a low power street car that doesnt see slicks/track...go for it.
some times the two lower torque mounts are in the way of things so they need to be removed, if you have an adequit rear torque mount the engine will not move so the front lowers arent needed.
the only time its "ok" to remove tq mounts is if you have pretty stiff aftermarket mounts
the purpose of the stock torque mounts is to help keep the motor planted but yet let it move around enough that you dont have tons of shaking/noise in the cabin
ive personally filled the tq/rear mounts with liquid weld and had them hold up fine over 400hp
so not true... if you remove the tq mounts and only rely on the stock mounts your motor will move all over the place

ive had the torque mounts off of my 94 gsr for years with the oem other mounts and never had any problems and its 194 n/a build... so i still think its ok it all depends on current set up i think its sooo worth it not to have them in the way when messing with the timing belt componets

its unfortunate this myth gets perpetuated over and over on the internet
they are there for a reason
one to keep the engine from torquing and two to keep the engine from entering the passenger compartment in the event of an accident
here is what can happen when you dont run them

Thats if the driver side mount breaks, thats rare but anything can happen.
you can run just the three mounts and the motor will stay solid and wont torque though. there not needed in that sense but i see your point with holding the motor in an accident

you really think the shitty rubber in those mounts is what stops the deceleration of a 400 lb mass in fractions of a second? Sure they help, but that brace is the back is designed for that moreso I think
