Default Moroso Oil Pan tapping

I was looking in to tapped oil pans for my turbo setup that i am building. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about Moroso Oil pans and if they come pre-tapped . Here is a link to the one i was looking at....Can you tell me if it comes pre-tapped for oil lines? http://performance.yoparts.com....aspx

Yeah im not sure. I am thinking about buying a oil fee/return line kit from threadstone performance. I am justing wondering if the lines will end up being too short or too long with that oil pan. Think it is worth taking the chance? its only like $120

why do you need a kit? If you want, post a link and I'll give you a review. lol

I know you'll need a 1/2ntp ---> -10an fitting to make the oil pan work.

it looks like this:

now all you need is an AN oil flange from function7 for your turbo and you'll be set to use AN fittings and hose of you choice. much better than a kit

I guess it aint bad for the price but I think you can do better if buy it individually from summit.

You'll need a steel weld on bung something that I don't think that kit has.

I suggest you buy this kit for your feed line:

http://stealthmodeperformance.com/oil-feed.shtml

it has the correct fitting so you can attach your oil sending unit without cracking your block are taking out the threads.

or you can get an oil filter sandwich adapter

Solid advice. We are the manufacturer for that fitting, and made it just for this reason. The block has British taper threads, and are different from what we commonly use in the US.

Although we do offer complete oil line kits from Stealthmode, it is possible to put together your own kit with a little research. But certainly start with that block fitting or a sandwich adapter. Both are a proper way of plumbing your feed line.

if you want to connect AN fittings to the oil pan but you don't want to weld, you need this type of bulkhead fitting:

http://store.summitracing.com/...w=sku

You would have to JB weld on the outside of the oil pan so you have no leaks and I would also JB weld the inner pan too to prevent the nut from backing out but I don't know if JB weld can stand up to those temps.

I really suggest you get it welded so you won't have to worry about it

I always just used a good amount of RTV or Hondabond when I was running a weldless bulkhead fitting for a drain, worked fine and never leaked. Make sure you use those special washers with the o-ring built in(I think they're called strat-o-seals) on both sides of the fitting, and tighten the nut down well. I actually found that the -10 bulkhead fitting was a bit long for my pan, and would either stick out or in too far, depending on which way I pointed it, so I just used a regular -10 male/male union and put the retaining nut on the inside of the pan. I was always careful not to crank on my return line to hard to prevent the fitting from backing out. A generous amount of RTV/Hondabond will also help keep it in place. A welded fitting is obviously more reliable, but this works if you don't have access to a competent welder.

i bought mine from lightning, but they are all the same and the same price everywhere. i did run into an issue with my oil return. i needed it to be in the middle, but my manifold made the turbo sit kinda low. i clocked the turbo about 15* and added a low profile 90 which gave it just enough to drain back to the oil pan.
