i think this is an important point. so many people on h-t seem to miss this. saying "oh well if it cracks or breaks ill just buy another one" well think about it, if it keeps on cracking and breaking then you either have to buy another one or cough up the money for a decent part, which you could have done in the beginning and saved yourself tons of heartache

This what ive decided to do. Ive decided to continue working hard in school and at my current job. But im now looking for another job. I am seriously going to make an effort to cut out my social life (gets me into trouble anyway). And hopefully if i work my *** off i should be where i want to be in a few months. I currently have a JRC FMIC, DRAG DP, AND DRAG MANI, so thats a few parts i wout have to buy. Im not looking for anything crazy. just maybe like 250 daily and occosional 300 if i go to the track. (havent gone in over a year). Ill prolly be going down the dsm 450/crome route. but i don't know what im gonna do about a wide band. those things are pricey! I was also thinking about getting a welder so i could fab up some exhasut stuff since im planning on using an E-Cut. But it wold also come in handy when fabbinc up IC piping. ANyway, im off to look for another Job. WISH ME LUCk

I hear you man. I used to be like that, when I got my Si back in 02. I always wondered where all these guys got their money from. It turned out some of them were loaded mommy and daddy, some of them did some not so legal things and others worked really hard for it.
So began my journey for my 350whp car. I went through the whole intake header exhaust rims stage. Then my " NA" stage. then turbo stage. All i gotta say is hard work and keep your head up man. Sometimes you can catch good deals and pick up stuff sometimes not. Also I'm in school right now and going to law school next year. so even more money. I did some entrepeneuring over the last few years with ebay. I bought some stuff from best buy like dvd players and such that were on sale for cheap and sold them on ebay for profit. Sure its only 50 bucks here and there it helps. Otherwise try to turn into investing. Investing in gold is a good choice.
There are tons of guys on this website that will help you out too when you are ready.
good luck man

</TD></TR></TABLE> No way. The market is too volitile, intrest rates are rising unpredictably and commisions per trade are too low. The only investing im going to do is with micro-cap stocks b/c the opportunity to make/loose alot of money is there. And besides gold per oz is way too espensive. I cold only afford a few oz. Thats not really worth it to me. And if i could afford more than a few OZ's i wouldn't be complaning about not having any money

Sounds like some good advice on here. I know what it's like being stuck with no money. I basically worked $6/hr jobs from HS thru college. My parents pretty much refused to give me anything, they wanted me to work for it. It sucked in hs when kids get a new fast car bought for them by their parents. Right before I graduated college, I got a job that paid $40k/yr. Nothing big, but decent for fresh out of college. I lived with my parents for a couple months, and paid cash for my car.
I always thought of myself as financially smart up until that point. That's when I started making stupid decisions when it came to working on the car. I wanted something fast, but wanted everything super quick at the lowest possible cost. I threw on some rims and slammed it with cheap ebay coilovers. Stupid. New tires after 3mo @ $120ea. New suspension at the same time for $450. Then I decided to put a turbo on. Rather than wait, I just bought a bunch of parts and burned myself really bad. In the end, it would have been cheaper to just go buy a Greddy kit. Things kept breaking, and I had to keep shelling out money that I didn't have to get a running car so I could get to work. Finally..I started just charging everything to the cc. Big mistake. Up until that point I had always been debt free. I ran up about $3k in debt. One thing after another when it came to the car. Finally got the turbo kit on and running, but not tuned. At Daytona Beach, while showing a friend how I can spin the tires shifting to 2nd, the turbo ripped out of the manifold. That's what I get for not doing it right. Had to limp to a friend's garage and take it all off and go back to the stock exhaust. Skipping a long list of unfortunate events, the car has become this huge money pit. Everytime I turn around I see what has happened as a result of me trying to rush things and go the cheapest route. Sometimes we'd have to just rig something up to get the car to run. Several times a week I consider dumping the car and just buying a used Accord or something to cruise around in. Due to certain circumstances, I left my job and still have several thousand $$ of debt that has yet to be paid, a car that has repeat problems, and not much money to spend on it. I have to regularly give up things like going out to eat, vacations, fun weekend stuff etc so that I can waste more money on the car. I look back and wish I could do it again with what I know now.
Fortunately for you, you still have the opportunity to do it right. Take the advice on here and do the smart thing. Buy a domestic car.
Just kidding.
