Default maxxed out 57 trim....

im wondering what kind of power people are making out of there t3/t04e 57 trim garrett turbo. what psi are you out of the effifiency range of the turbo (20-22psi here)...and what hp are you making at the high end of the turbos ability... anyone at 500whp on boost alone?

honda engines are pretty efficient, if you use a good intercooler setup, especially with cams and / or cylinder head porting you should be able to get whatever the compressor map says. in theory of course

They can be boosted to 500whp, but that exhaust wheel is BEYOND its efficiency and you're looking at total material fatique in a matter of time. Not to mention the additional intake temperatures from the amout of boost used after 22 psi that can lead to sever detontation. If you want to acheive these power levels, its just time to step up your turbocharger.

yeah i think on a b-series motor the turbo would max out at 20-22 lbs..
i maxed out and only made 370whp.. it wasn't too bad though.
i think 500 p i would go with a gt35

i think a DOHC at about 30-32 psi with a head with springs and retainers with a ramhorn mani would hit close to 500 on c16

drunken though
opinion?

you could make it, but like TheShodan said above, at that point you're causing so much extra heat that you face detonation problems...also you would probably gain power by switching to a turbo where your power goal is in its efficiency range rather than well above it....I know that Garrett turbos are built to withstand some punishment, but at some point you have to start worrying about mechanical fatigue and failure when pushing it so hard...

I think I know what you said here, so I'll leave that alone.

It seems as if 500whp is what he's trying to acheive, DD isn't really an issue for him. He's got quite a few choices that he can do to make that power, and still be T3 flanged if that's his preference.

well if he wants it to be a dd wouldnt a gt30 be the best .. of the gt series...

when hes just putting around town he can run low boost 14psi ish on 93 octane and still have great spool .. and when he slaps some c16 in it turn the boost up for the track.. im sure its not a track only car if its only 500hp

car almost has the power now on the 57 trim on boost alone, but cant make the power without c16 for the timing, i want something that i can drive more often without paying 12$ a gallon.... i was just seeing where other people are at with the turbo maxed out. this is not a daily driver only due to thefts, but its only driven on the street....
