Re: map sensor for turbo??? (386kustoms)
yeah, you're gonna have to have one of those. On my 99 Integra just running an fmu, no chip, if the map sensor bypass isn't hooked up and you go into boost the ecu shuts the car into limp mode until i reset it. right now i'm running this thing called check valves that you make from vacuum line and aquarium valves. not professional and not really recommended but works temporarily and is like $10. basically just bleeds off boost so the map sensor never sees it. and you probably already know this, but it's not really in the "piping", it just sits between the map sensor and the top of the throttle body (on the integra anyway). if you want i can post a pic of where it goes or how to temporarily rig the check valve thing.

You are talking about the Air Inlet Temp (AIT sensor). Some people put in the Intake tube before the turbo, some people put it in the charge pipe, and on most 0bd1 engines they are placed on the intake manifold.

Re: map sensor for turbo??? (386kustoms)
correct me if i'm wrong but isnt' it the intake air temperature sensor?
you are going to need that,
However you are going to need to do something to keep the map sensor from seeing boost, you can either buy a missing link or do the check valves like mentioned above. that is only if you are running an fmu, other programs like uberdata, hondata, crome etc... will allow the ecu to read boost with the stock map sensor up to something like 11.7psi
hope it helps
