Default MACHINE single cam homemade turbo project.

Best 1/8th mile time ,8.17@86.6 mph on M/T 22x8x15 slicks at Denton Dragway.
Traded the car in after the turbo blew at 18psi.






Stock suspension, 14s in front, 13s in rear w/155/80/13 tires.




Setup...
D16Y8 block, D16Y7 head non-vtec
Cometic headgasket, ARP studs
Si transmission
STD manifold/adapter plate combo
Garrett T3 turbo w/ internal wastegate
2.5" open downpipe
Turbo XS RFL bov
Ebay intercooler, 2" piping pre, 2.5" piping after intercooler
DSM 450cc injectors
Turboedit tuned at the track, 15 psi, 11.5 AFR w/LM1 wideband

hahaha...2.5" downpipe??? more like a 2" downpipe with that bottleneck it has right by the turbo.

lets make a real downpipe.

This turbo sucks because you can't unbolt the internal wastegate section off.
We'll make a real one when we get a real turbo and manifold in there.

Top mount T3/T4 maybe?

Thanks guys.

It's stock block/head/cams. The block had somewhere around 80K miles on it when we put it together.

Suspension is the next step, but it will probably sit pretty high so that I can fit 22x9x13s on the car, and I'm going for a drag launch kit that doesn't lower the rear at all. The last time we ran 24.5x8x13s it cut up one tire up pretty bad on the edges.

TECH: Put in an EX tranny (d16y8) and call it a day.
