Here are some pics, i just did the spacing on my hood a few minutes ago, it took me about 15 minutes by my self (get someone to help you and its much easier then tryign to balance th ehood by your self). Now you dont need to use such a big spacer as ive done here with my car. Reason i did mine that much is its basically only a track car and it goes on the street once in a while. it never sees rain and i can use all the cooling effect i can get.

Yeah that doesnt look too bad, not sure if id want it like that all the time but maybe at least on the track. Im gonna look into getting somesort of vented hood or at least maybe some vents installed, my buddy has a gti with a carbon fiber vent that pulls air into an intake before the turbo, doesnt look bad.

Is that a carbon fiber hood your runnin?

I did it to my hood as well, but not as extreme as Turbo-LS.

Yeah you dont have to do is aS EXTREME as outkast has posted, just the slightest bit as long as there is a gap between the gasket and the hood your good to go. i just did mine so big because like i stated i need alot of air to get out from under my hood she gets hot now and im sure with 35 psi and 700+whp its going to get very hot under the hood

you can get those steel spacers at any local hardware store or homedepot/lowes. i used 5 washers on each one and i think its a 1 1/4 inch spacer.

and no thats not a carbon fiber, i wish it was but i cant waste 500 on a hood right now. i can use 500 towards other things if i even had 500 to begin with HAHAHAHHA its a stock replacment hood from veng usa replacement parts. they come in black and i just threw it on a few weeks ago. hopefully this winter my father will replace my rotted 1/4 panels and repaint my baby for me

I'm thinking about taking a Welding course.

It will be Welding I. It's 195 bucks for tuition, and books included.

I have no experience whatsoever, and I would like to start making some nice stuff. EX: charge piping, log manifold.

Its about 12 sessions. Every Saturday from 9a.m. - 12p.m.

Description:

In this introductory course, students will learn the pro*cesses of Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Oxy/fuel Gas Cutting (OFC). This course is recommended for the hobbyist, mechanic, or main*tenance person and it serves as the prerequisite for the other welding programs. Price includes tuition for both sessions and textbook (-s).

Think I will come out of there and able to possibly make a log mani or so? Exhaust, downpipe?

I have never touched a welder.......actually I have but only for a bit of time. I still don't know jack.

What do you guys think? Anyone take courses?

Yeah for sure, if i wasnt already taken Automotive Performance at the tech school i would definately go out to a class like that. I was also thinking of taken autobody but i dont think i have that kinda money to go to school for 4 years to learn 2 more trades lol.

Hey outkast!!! Im thinkin of buying a hood can you post up some full frontal shots of the car lol so i can see what shes gonna look like. I think it should go well with my si-vtec front lip plus i pop my hood so much a lighter one would make life just that much nicer .

I just installed a rear wiper delete, yeah i saved about 5 pounds . Now im heading to go get some spacers.

aaroboost.... pro n1's kick *** by the way, its on my to do list.

Thanks! That is a sexy bitch... i think im gonna look into getting a hood just might have to go drive down south to pick one up from seattle. Shipping is a freakin rip off. I got my hood spacers and freakin black high grade bolts to handle the extra pressure from using the spacers, should be good to go.

Alright guys I am hooking up my turbo setup. I have a 57 trim w/ .60 A/R but I can't figure out the lines for the Tial wastegate and the turbo XS boost controller I have. It looks like I need a line coming right off of the turbo, but my turbo doesn't have anything of that sort on it.

Do you guys know what is up?

Run wg vacuum line to a vacuum source. (doesn't have to be on the turbo) You can T it off the fuel pressure regulator line, the brake booster, etc. As for the xs boost controller, just t it off the wg line.

If u do a search, theres a bunch of diagrams showing u how its done.

Yeah I looked at the diagram there ^ and from the sound of it I was under the impression that I needed to put a line into the compressor. So I guess basically both lines could tap into my vacuum manifold (with the boost controller in one line)?

Diagram is pretty self explanatory... wastegate uses one vacuum line and is controlled by the MAP. So all your doing is putting the solenoid in between that to adjust how much pressure it should get. Follow the diagram and it should work just fine.

Anyone have a wiring diagram for the harnesses coming off of an OBD-1 LS distributor?

I am converting my CRX from OBD-0 to OBD-1 right now but I need to cross-reference the two so that I know where to solder my wires to.

And thanks Outkast - believe it or not that diagram makes more sense to me than the other few I have found.

I think I am going to go to Home Depot right now and get a bunch of barb fittings so I can take care of all of my vacuum needs with the cute little black box I bought from Spoolin Performance.

Actually, you're right. My picture doesn't specify if its the top or side port. But people should know the side port is for mbc and the top port is for electronic bc.
