Re: LST / LS-T Turbo B18A B18B setups
nice run, are you tires fully inflated? i thought you would want them to be on lower psi. i cant wait until i get some slicks
Re: LST / LS-T Turbo B18A B18B setups
They are 25"
They have 10psi in them this video.
I sorted out the 2-step today, gonna go back this Wednesday and leave from 5500-6000 and try to cut some 1.7 60' and dip into the 11's.
Thanks for the kind words guys!

way to much tire WAY WAY to much tire for that car. you've got to get the rpm way up on that tire and the tire pressure way down but start with bringing the rpm up and building some boost untill your spinning the crap out of that tire and then play with air pressure. What engine management is in the car? What hp is the car making and whats your redline ?
No you cannot run 402's with stock valve springs

Re: LST / LS-T Turbo B18A B18B setups
How much Power you making?? Because I'm Making 260hp and I got some 24.5 but I might just try them out over the bald drag radials I had which did nothing.. Just going to deflate them to 10 psi and go from there.. Hoping to crack like a 13.0 on slicks from my 14.5 on drag radials

Mike you have no where near the power to utilize a 24.5" slick its just going to bog and slowly make its way through the gears especially at Lebanon valley drag way with the elevation, unless your car was tuned up near the track it wont loose as much power but still not enough for that size slick. You need a set of 23's

Wayyy too much tire on both counts. You'd have to spin the **** out of them off the line to prevent bogging, which leads to the high likelihood of breaking an axle or two when you launch

I see a set of traction bars in his near future... and maybe some stronger axles/hubs and arp extended wheel studs

Also really low slick pressure will put so much contact patch on the ground that you'd still have issues. I'd try playing with camber and tire pressure to slightly reduce the size of tbe contact patch of the tire. Do this in increments because too much negative camber and you'll spin worse,
Higher slick pressure/negative camber will still give you grip off the line and as you go through the rev range down the track the tire (should) start to ballon a little bit, giving you less contact patch and potentially causing traction issues.... but the speeds you're at by the 1/8th should eliminate the traction issues as well as rolling resistance/friction/drag and things like that

Re: LST / LS-T Turbo B18A B18B setups
Anyone running bfg drags on the street? I am trying to find which psi in them will help on the street, I just did some test launches at 32psi. They are 205 50 15's, I am on 15psi of boost on a bone stock LS motor/trans with ARP headstuds. 2 step is at 3k but on crome not crome pro so I can't build boost. I come off that at WOT and soon as I hit full boost my 1 2 shift still spins like crazy. TIA

Bfg radials are garbage for anything. Look into something better. Can get better traction with an all season performance tire than bfg's

Re: LST / LS-T Turbo B18A B18B setups
Thanks for the info guys, I don't know about not being better than my all season tires. They definitely hook better than those. I bought they cause they were 100 bucks on rims already and I was spinning till 4th lol. I will look into the other tires you guys mentioned as well.
Edit: r888 are only 138 each, that's the cheapest out of all the tires I looked for.

Re: LST / LS-T Turbo B18A B18B setups
Nitto NT01. I've had good results with these even though they are a bit harder tread compound but they grip when up to temp
Then there's the following DOT drag radials
NT05
NT05R
NT555R
and then another dot slick/sticky Nitto aimed at road course racing but has been used for drags
The NT555RII (2)
Toyo
R888
RA1
TQ (DOT Drag Radial)
RS1
RR
Hankook has offerings as well
The Ventus TD Z221. It's offered in hard, medium, and soft compounds
Ventus Z214
Achilles
ATR K Sport
R1
123S (hugely popular in Formula Drift... very sticky tire)
123
BFGoodrich
G-force Rival
G-force R1 & R1S
G-force T/A Drag Radial
Goodyear
Eagle Dragway Special
Eagle Drag Radial
Front Runner (drag and top fuel) basically skinnies
Michelin
Pilot Sport
Pilot Sport A/S 3
Pilot Super Sport
Pilot Sport Cup (these are the street tires on our 600rwhp c6 z06 road course car. they drive like a dream)
Pilot Sport PS2
Hoosier
R6 (we run these on the above z06 on road courses and they simply eliminate any wheel spin, which is amazing since the car makes over 500ftlb to the ground. They've transformed the car into some R35 crushing grip monster lol)
DOT Drag Radials (numerous sizes)
Falken
RT615K
That's all I can think of at the moment. Some are full tread, semi slick, and full slick.
Some of the tires are made for road course racing (I added them because not everyone drag races) however I have seen people take cars to the strip on full slick road course tires and just rocket down the track.
