ls vtec turbo question
k i dont know what forum this should actually be in but i thought i would post it in here anyways becuas i will be going turbo
first off i have a b16 right now with cracked ring lands so i figured i would just buy an ls block and use my head that is still good. questions
1. could i just use the 9.2:1 stock ls pistons with my stock b16 vtec head? would this be a good idea since i am going turbo as well because i blew the original b16 with my turbo?
2. will my compression be raised after i put the vtec head on my ls block to something higher than 9.2:1?
3. how much power will just the stock 9.2:1 pistons make with the vtec head?
4. whats it all going to cost since im going the cheap way?
thanks

I could have sworn I already suggested this to you:
if you do get the LS block at least try to get some pistons and rods in there. Eagle rods are pretty inexpensive. Although I dont know what to recommend for an inexpensive aftermarket pistons. Try looking at CP, Arias, Wiseco, JE and maybe even the Endyn pistons. Then use some ARP headstuds and you'll be set.
There's no point in asking how much power you can make with the LSVTEC turbo setup since with stock internals you are limited to 300 HP +/-. And let's not forget that with a stock internal LS block you still have to worry about cracking your ringlands again.

yeah i think you might have but i didnt want to do that at the time. now im thinking about it.
where can i tap for the vtec oil feed since im using the back of the block for the turbo feed? i read you shouldnt feed them both from the back of the block so where am i going to feed the second source?

Look into a Golden Eagle oil filter sandwich plate. You might have seen them around...they have one 1/8 npt port which you can use for your turbo feed line. Then there is a bigger port which you use for the VTEC oil supply in the head. You just screw the sandwich plate where the oil filter normally goes. Then you screw your oil lines into the side of the sandwich plate.
Golden Eagle sells the whole VTEC conversion kits for about $239 USD.

They include:
VTEC Conversion Kit
OEM Gasket Overbored with dowel holes opened
VTEC Conversion Dowels
Head Tap & Plug
Teflon Oil Feed Line

Re: ls vtec turbo question (BlueShadow)
iv seen in some pics a feed line from the front of the block. how is this done?
ok so with this kit where does the feed come from for the oil pressure for the vtec? i already have tapped into the back of my block for the turbo. i just need to know where to tap for the vtec? and i dont want to spend alot of money
