Default Ls-Vtec T or Gsr T'

im going to have a bottom end built up over this winter for boost, but im having troubles deciding which bottom end to go with. For reference ill be usuing a type r head, intake manifold, and virtually anything else other then the type r bottom end. Ive been debating between just having a gsr bottom end built or going with a b18a and then usuing a golden eagle ls-vtec kit. What type of power difference would there be between the two set-ups on an identical turbo set-up?

They would both average out to being the same price sense gsr blocks sell for 200-400 and the b18a's can be found for 50-100, but the b18a would require an ls-vtec kit. Either way ill be usuing all my R parts from my swap besides the bottom end so im left debating the subject.......'

thoughts, opinions, suggestions ?

goal is 300whp daily boost, 450whp high boost

also debating between sleeving it or not, most i want to push is 450whp, ill be happy with 300whp low boost and anything 400+ high'

Do the gsr if you already have it.It's a much cleaner set up.You will never see the difference of a few cc's.If you have a good engine management and tune than you should be fine with stock sleeves at that hp.

GSR turbo, but with the LS bottom end you will definately get more torque. With a straight GSR, you will get more reliability. If you have the money, it will always be worth it to re-sleeve. YOU WILL WANT MORE BOOST TRUST ME.

yeah just sleeve it noe. it will leave you plenty of room to grow and its a lil safe gaurd for your motor. boost is ADDICTIVE!!
do it right or do it twice

id go with the gsr K.I.S.S.
keep it simple sucka

its more of a preference thing......

If I where you I would get the block sleeved and put the LS crank inside the GSR block and have a RLZ or similar block girdle installed so you can still rev it as high as the GSR..... but that’s just me

yep boost is a drug, you get a small taste and want another and another and another

so if you do it right you can have a motor take you from 5 to 25 psi and it gives you a wide range out power options

200whp to hell 600+whp

thats just the differences between a sleeved and a non sleeved oem sleeve block
