Which Bottom end To Build With Current Set-up?
so to make a long story short i had a built turbo d16, now im running a na jdm R, but over winter id like to have a bottom end built and go turbo again for next summer.
Ill be usuing my JDM ITR swap, everthing besides the bottom end. I was curious what bottom end you think i should build up and why? Ill keep the R head stock'
Keep in mind ill be usuing my type r head, tranny and all the rest. Ill keep it on stock sleeves but some nice aftermarket pistons/rods and a fresh rebuild for the bottom'. Goal is going to be 300whp daily driver low boost, and id like to push 400ishwhp on track days "high boost". My turbo set-up isnt going to be anything too crazy, ill be usuing a log style manifold w/gt BB series turbo. I like the spool time on the GT's and they make for a really fun street car but still have the ***** to throw down enough power to haul down the track and pull to redline.
I cant and dont want to remove my type r bottom end and rebuild it because its a waste of a nice strong stock R block that dosnt need to be rebuilt. Not to mention i cant deal with the downtime etc. So im gonna buy a different bottom end and build it up then remove my R bottom end when its completed and swap it on over.' Plus that way i can sell the low mileage R bottom end when the time comes around.
Im having troubles deciding which bottom end to have built. Suggestions, thoughts, info please

build a vtec block(ITR,CTR, GSR) they all have the same deck hight. use a gsr/itr crank. or you can use an ls crank and rods to make a "sleeper" ls/vtec.. this way you dont have any external oil lines.....
my vote
GSR block
gsr crank
crower/manley/pauter rods
cp/je/wiseco pistons
block off oil squirters
aebs main studs/head studs
z10 block girdle(3 main)
ATI dampener (insurance)
