Which Bottom End to Build?
So i was wondering which bottom end would be my best bet to have built. Ill be usuing a 99 jdm itr head, tranny, intake manifold, ect ect. Basically im running a itr swap right now na but want to have a bottom end built for boost, then im gonna swap out the bottoms and add the turbocharger ect ect. Power goal is about 300whp low boost daily and up to around 425-450whp high boost for track ect.
i dont wanna build my itr bottom end for boost because its such a great na platform and i cant go with a few months downtime on my car, it would be easier and cheaper to just build a gsr or ls bottom end and then sell my R bottom once its done and installed and just use the rest of the itr parts from my swap
i was just wondering what the advantages/disadvanteges of usuing a gsr bottom, or ls bottom, or b16 bottom end would be. as stated ill be usuing all my other ITR parts like tranny, head, intake manifold, so please keep that in mind ect ect
was there any differences between the diff year's bottom ends?
also, if i decided to go with a b18 bottom end for a ls vtec turbo set-up, what else would be needed for the motor? just my vtec head and the built bottom or is there wiring that needs to be done or anything that needs to be done for the parts to marry up to one another....

Well, sinc eyour building it up regardless, Id think you want the gsr bottom to be build, Im not sure about this but I think the bottome end on the gsr is the same as the type r aside from the pistons. But with the gsr motor you can rev higher than the ls motor. Im not much of a honda xpert but Id go with the gsr bottom if I was you.
