if it smokes at idle the oil is going into the turbine housing or into the exhaust port chambers. are you running an oil restrictor?

pull the DP off and look inside see if oily, if not pull turbo manifold off and check valve seals
Car have a crankcase ventilation system? aka catch can

Re: LS/Turbo Smokes at idle just started
did you checked all the vac lines and the pcv system, bad pcv can cause smoke. I had the same issue. turbo had minimal shaft play, a friend told me check the charge pipes for oil nothing. same guy told me just replace the turbo so i did and that was it. when i took a closer look at the turbo it had shaft play but not up and down, the play was when i pull on the turbine. hope this helps you..

Not if there isn't any oil in the turbine housing and oil splayed on the attached downpipe. This looks to be more of a cylinder head issue, not a turbocharger one. Sealing rings don't just lose tension suddenly, without showing other symptoms.

This is more than likely a valve seal/guide issue. Remove your manifold and inspect the valve stems for any oil seepage.

That's at extreme pressures, not with what this person is doing. Hell, many of us didn't have catchcans or vented valvecover until 2007. Way before then there wasn't anything we didn't have these issues associated with ring seals, and that was after years of abuse.

Oh i know its in extreme cases but it also depends on how healthy th motor is and milage etc. as to how well an oil seal can put up with extra crankcase pressure. IMO

Other than that, it sounds, (once again) like something in the engine is the problem.
