ls turbo in 88 civic, making homemade turbo i got questions?
im just picked up a 88 civic hatch for 250 bucks and im gonna swap for a ls soon , but i want to turbo this setup. what manifold can i buy and used turbos from what cars will work.correct me if im wrong but i need a manifold , wastegate, dumptube and blow off valve . and i can make my own piping and i m getting a intercooler from a izuzu truck.very nice size too. help me if you can

you can use the STD manifold, choose a turbo depending on how much boost you want to run... if your just gonna go like 6 or 7lbs, then go with a T-3 or T-25, since your engine propobly isn't built or anything. http://www.homemadeturbo.com

i would read up a little more...inline pro manifolds are t3/to4e's are good turbos...if you like drag i say .63 a/r if you like auto x i saw .48 a/r. There a TON more then what you listed...but have fun with your project.

i wasn't trying to compile a complete list of turbos, i was just mentioning a couple he might want to look into... also here is a good forum on turbocharging d series engines.

also on two turbo setups that are identical except for the manifold will the performance difference between the STD and a custom manifold be very much?
