low boost in first gear
I'm building only 2-3lbs in first gear then 5-6lbs in 2nd and 8-9 in 3rd and 4th/5th gears. What could be the problem. Set up is d16z6 with internally gated gt28r with turbosmart MBC. thanks......

Re: low boost in first gear (Mr.Death)
No problems, it's totally normal.
EDIT: After thinking about it some more, the others are right. There may be a leak somewhere. Little boost in 1st is normal, but 2nd and above you should be getting more boost than that.

Re: low boost in first gear (boostedej1)
i think its normal not enough load on the engine for 1st gear at least, as for second i get 15psi in my z6 from a t3/t04e 57 trim so iam pretty sure a gt28rs should get full spool in second lol

1st gear is real short anyway and there's no time for it to build up a lot boost.
And you don't really want full boost in 1st anyway since all you'll do is spin (unless you have DR's).

Re: (LS-N)
Found the problem . THe wastegate was stuck open a bit causing me to only make boost when the engine was under heavy load. Tightened the actuator arm and now I hit 9 lbs in second gear.
