Default Losing boost?

hey guys i have a wierd problem, my wastegate has a 10psi spring but the max psi i hit is 5 or 6 if im lucky! i checked for leaks in the couplers and charge pipes and leaks in the wastegate as well...
does anyone know why?
also is the bov supposed to suck in air during idle? should i adjust the bov to hard?
i dont know im pretty much stuck...
TIA

i had a problem like that. the nuts holding the turbo onto the manifold kept coming loose, making an exhaust leak big enough to prevent the turbo from getting full boost.

BOV shouldn't be open @ idle, My buddy's WRX was open @ idle and couldn't get full boost until we closed the BOV

i do hear an exhaust leakage from around the turbo somewhere but i always thought it was cuz i only put 3 bolts in for my downpipe flange! how do u prevent ur bolts and nuts coming loose from the turbo to the manifold???

you've probably solved your problem right there. try using lock washers and make sure you use all 4 or 5 bolts for the dp flange. let us know it it solves your problem.

lcok washers on the downpipe or manifold?
but then again even if the downpipe was leaking i dont think that would cause it not to boost?!?!

Yeah like said above move it to the intake manifold and it should work fine if vaccum is the problem which it sounds like.

I did a big search on vaccum lines and HOW-TO and everyone had no problems with the lines on the IM.

No your compressor should be fine it's just that the turbo "sees" or "reads" boost faster than the motor does which gives you a different reading.

Just go a do a search on vaccum lines and you will see what I'm talking about. I just read it last week but it's a old post or should I say post's.

If you unhook the line from your turbo and it reads boost fine then theres your answer, your turbo is fine your just not getting the same amount of boost in the motor as your turbo. Just hook it up to the brake booster line and you should be fine. Let us know

This is a vaccum manifold which is the easiest and best way to do the vaccum lines and you can find them for $28 with all the fittings you need. Read and see what everyone says

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=678106

This has some info on where/how to hook it up and has mixed feelings about everything but if your having problems with the line hooked up to teh compressor then I'd say it wouldn't hurt to hook it up to the Brake booster line. If you can't find a Tee fitting go to Autozone in the factory isle where they sell window cranks and all the crazy **** you normally don't look at and they have a universal tee fitting that is white plastic and the size gets bigger towards the middle of the tee. I'd say use that because your line to the wastegate is smaller than the brake booster line. Just cut the smaller ends off the 2 ends that connect to the brake booster line. hope this all makes sense

Any more ?'s just holla

but there is this 1 queston ive had for a long long time on ht and noone seems to be able to solve the problem, however this might have osmething to do with the vacuum issue...

my car has a vacuum leakage somewhere, which allows my brake pedal to sink straight to the floor and car wont stop and also u can literally feel the car trying to stop on 2 brakes instead of all 4, ive bled the brake system many times, changed master cylinder and checks for fluid and air leaks in the lines but i found nothing, i even changed my brake lines to stainless steel...

just a came to a conclusion that if maybe that might have something to do with a bad vacuum? i guess i have to jack my own thread by also wondering if anyone else can help me out with my brake problem...

if someone can think of the way to fix it ill paypal them 5 bucks just for giving an idea.. but however ur plan must work and solve my problem for the brakes..
