Which is correct way to hook up Wastegate Vaccum line?
I have hear both sides and was wondering which way is the correct way to hook up the vac line for the wastegate.
To the compressor of the turbo.
or
to the Intake manifold.
Right now i have it hooked up to the compressor.

either way will work but it's best to have it coming off of the manifold so the waste gate is opening acording to psi thats making it to the engine.

I was thinking the same thing because the psi right off the compressor is not always the same as in the intake manifold. Will hooking it to the intake make any difference in spoolup time? I would think the wastegate would open sooner if it is hooked to the compressor, because it will see boost quicker then if it were hooked to the intake. Would this cause little bit of lag????? Would the wastegate start opening a little too early?
IMO it's much better to have it run off the compressor, to avoid somehow damanging your turbo. For example if you're running the wastegate off the manifold, and the charge piping blows off at 7500rpm, and you manifold isn't seeing any boost, then the wastegate won't upon open and you're the turbo is going to be spinning uncontrollably.

If you hook it up to the manifold, you may get a spike from part throttle to full throttle...
Safer to run it off the compressor, and adjust the wastegate to open at the
PSI you want at the manifold for WOT.

When I ran it off the compressor I lost about 1psi with the IC. Same thing with my friends greddy kit. We both have it connected to the manifold now. No spikes for me.
where on the manifold do you have it connected too??i am gonna use the cruise control vac for the BOV and boost gauge.. any other suggestions, or should I use that same nipple?

what do u use to plug the nipple...gum?
with my experiences it depends on whether it is an internal or external. Internal run it off the compressor because thats the way it was designed. External run it from the manifold or charge pipe. I chose the charge pipe for my tial 35mm since it will only see boost and no vacuum not that it matters. Mine never spikes and never drops. Pro about tapping the charge pipe instead of manifold, one less damn thing tee'd into the manifold
